Overall: A/A-

It's funny to give my show a grade like this but I think it emphasizes just how satisfied I was with it. Artists and musicians tend to be hard on themselves and I'm no different, although I am easier on myself than I used to be.

Now I don't take my own judgements personal. I don't let myself feel bad about what I'm not satisfied with, I just make practical decisions to improve them.

Overall though, it's the first time I ever had as how that felt like the kind of show I want to play.

I prepared fairly well given the circumstances, but due to work and events and the summer heat and the fact that I didn't want to do this any later than July (because I've been talking about it since February). I think most people would have waited another 6 months to get ready because going from acoustic to electric guitar (and not only that, heavy on the effects), is a very difficult task.

In some ways they are the same instrument but it really depends what you want to do. If you focus is the effects, they are basically a seperate instrument.

I love my new setup, focused on loop and delay with a bit of distortion and reverb. Would be nice to get a wah and octave pedal, and maybe a compression pedal. More importantly I need a volume pedal for my mic since I am changing the mic settings on stage. Currently I can adjust the volume in but if I make a loop I can't adjust the loops volume. That creates some jarring moments where it stops suddenly.

10 people showed up, aside from myself, my partner, a friend who played some guitar for me, and the owner (14 if you count us). That may not sound like a big deal, but after 2 years of no hype whatsover, and considering it was a Tuesday night, and everyone has a million other events to go to in the summer, NOT EFFING BAD!!!

Next time I hope to play with someone else so we can blend different scenes.

The most surprising thing about the night was that I was way more satisfied with the jams then the songs. This is probably because the songs were written for acoustic guitar and I'm still trying to figure them out on electric. It's mostly about finding the right settings. Hopefully the tone can sound better when I find the right settings, that was the biggest weak point.

I felt alright. I was worried because the day before I was beyond exhausted, but I was both playful and into the music, and I think I gave the music the energy it deserved.

The other weak point besides the tone was that I had to memorize too many setting and I couldn't seem to remember all of them so in between some songs I stumbled a lot to find what worked. My friend probably needed a bit more practice to get into my music. He sounded great but I think he's the type who likes to overprepare. The third jam was incredible! I'll share it sometime soon

The space is perfect for me. The atmosphere works well for my music and the boss lets me do whatever I want. The only issue is that his drinks are too expensive so a lot of friends feel it in their pockets more than I'd like.

I like how I planned this! I like the setup! I want to do more shows like this! I will share videos soon!

Here is a tiny little clip to give you a feel for the show:
