I did it….I sold…..

I finally did it, I really sold…or well…I started selling and plan on selling a total of 20-25% of my crypto.

Up until now, crypto has mostly just been a number on a screen for me, one which symbolized an brighter future for myself and the people I care about.

I tried to hold off selling any meaningful amount as long as possible. I sat through the 2018 crash and decided that this was a long game, bought into bitcoin somewhere around $6000 USD. I didn’t have much but I realized if i could stick it out for two bull markets, it would be worth it.

And so yesterday I sold about $2000 worth of crypto so I could pay off bills and build a tiny gap between new bills coming in and new payments coming in.

Guess how much I bought the same amount of bitcoin for? Under $100! 🤯

So I can’t claim that this isn’t life changing, but its a bit earlier than I wanted to start selling. I beleive bitcoin will do at least a 2x this cycle and was hoping to sell at around $180k BTC, but i have another batch of satoshis ready to cash out once the pump begins, this amount was to hopefully hold me off other few months until it’s a better time to sell.

Our plan to start a business seems to have been sabotaged by new policy which makes it harder for foreigners. Rather than be angry, I’ve decided to take it as a chance to build a cash position that takea some of our financial stress off and regroup and figure out where to go from here.

The goal now has become to get out of survival mode, wothout spendinga ton of money. Hopefully by taking out some crypto I can stop missing out on so many opporutnities. I want to play music and hold exhibitions and workshops and pop ups and sometimes that requires me to to out and talk to people and get involvednin the community which costs money in Tokyo. I won’t go crazy, I currently go to about 2-3 small events a month, so maybe I can double it and try to increase my income so after a few weeks or months and not deplete my new cash savings.

Mostly I need to come up with a new plan that doesn’t involve caving in and finding a 9-5 because if we turn back now, we will essentially be giving up on all our dreams ans that isn’t happening. Perhaps we will have to adjust them or scale down but we will not give up on living life freely and on our own terms. We will keep working towards that even if laws and social trensa make it more and more difficult.

Partner has her first art exhibition and a pop up shop next week so I am focused on heloing her with that and from there I will get back to lyrics and recording demos and book a show for October or November.

I am actually very exhausted right now, but physically and emotionally. It’s been a lot to deal with. This pivot will be a relief but the stress leading up to it was enough to do a number on me.
