Process/Proceso

We created the shapes of the three characters. I already had this idea partially developed in my sketchbook, which made it easier for me to move forward. I don't know if you can tell, but originally my friend was going to be on the left side, but I changed this when I made the sketch. I don't know why, but I feel like the body looked more like hers. Another point I should mention is that I didn't know whose legs to put the child on, hers or his grandmother's. I think these details have a lot of symbolism. We did the line art in black using Yuna's brush, which has a nice texture, and I've been using it for a couple of months now.

Realizamos la forma de los tres personajes, esta idea ya la tenia un poco adelantada en mi cuaderno de bocetos, por lo que me facilito adelantar. no se si nota pero originalmente mi amiga iba a estar del lado izquierdo, pero esto lo cambie al momento de hacer el boceto, no se porque, pero siento que el cuerpo tenía más parecido al de ella. Otro punto que tenía que mencionar es que no sabia en que piernas poner al niño si en las de ella o su abuelita, creo que estos detalles tienen mucho simbolismo. Hacemos el lineart en color negro usando el pincel de Yuna, tiene una textura agradable y ya tengo un par de meses usándolo.

We applied the base color... later on I had to change them a little because I felt that the image had too much yellow, so much so that it was tiring on the eyes. Or maybe it's just me.

Aplicamos el color base... más adelante tuve que cambiarlos un poco siento que la imagen tenía mucho color amarillento, tanto que cansaba la vista. O no sé si es idea mía.

We started with the details from the bottom up. The blouse with details took me a while because I wanted to do it quickly. My option was to create a new layer and use the multiply effect to give it shadows. It's not something I usually do, but it worked. The characters' skin could have been much more detailed, but since I wanted to maintain a more cartoonish style, I decided to keep it simple.

Empezamos los detalles desde el fondo, la blusa con detalles me costo un poco ya que quería hacerlo rápido, mi opción fue crear una capa nueva y con el efecto multiplicar darle las sombras, no es algo que suela hacer pero funciono. la piel de los personajes pudieron ser mucho mas detalladas pero al querer mantener un estilo mas caricaturesco decidí dejarlas algo simples.

We finish the skin and clothing of each character, and the drawing really comes to life when you add the details to the eyes. Now all that's left is to apply the two-tone effect to my friend's hair.

Terminamos la piel y ropa de cada personaje, el dibujo realmente toma vida, es cuando aplicas los detalles en los ojos. ya solo queda aplicar el efecto de bicolor en el cabello de mi amiga.

To finish, we highlight the lines of the eyes with the same color and brush as the line art.
