Process/Proceso

I forgot to ask if these horns were eyelashes or actual horns, but I drew them as horns and made a preliminary sketch with the creature facing forward. Then I made a more detailed and corrected sketch, which will help us later on in the parts that don't have line art. Finally, we do the line art in black.

Olvide preguntar si estos cuernos eran pestañas o en efecto eran cuernos, yo los hice como cuernos, saque un boceto previo con la creatura de frente. Luego un boceto con mas detalle y corregido, este nos ayudara mas adelante en las partes que no llevan lineart. Finalmente, hacemos el lineart en color negro.

We apply the base color. I tried to stick to the color palette used by Antonella, and I also created a dark background with a central light source to create contrast and make the character stand out a little more.

Aplicamos el color base. Trate de respetar la paleta de colores que uso Antonella, también me invente un fondo oscuro con una luz central para hacer contraste y resaltar un poco más al personaje.

We blur the background and add the “strong light” effect. Behind the character, I also added several layers of light and a contour with a motion effect to make it look like the light is hitting the character. We add details to the body, which could be described as the character's body. For the small veins in the eye, I used a shade similar to that of the outline. I drew the details of the iris by hand and then blurred them. On top of that layer, I added another one with darkness around the edges.

Difuminamos el fondo y agregamos el efecto "luz fuerte". Detrás del personaje tambien agregue varias capas de luz y un contorno con efecto de movimiento para que parezca la luz que choca con el personaje. Agregamos detalles al cuerpo, se podría decir que es el cuerpo del personaje. Para las pequeñas venas del ojo use un tono similar al del contorno. Los detalles del iris los hice de forma manual y luego los difumine, sobre esa capa agregue otra mas con oscuridad en los bordes.

To finish the eye, apply several strong light effects. For the blood tears, I had to apply more color in a different layer because the original layer with that effect does not allow strong tones to be applied. The ground was a mixture of crimson tones and sparkles to give the effect of liquid.

Para terminar con el ojo, aplique varios efectos de luz fuerte. Para las lagrimas de sangre, tuve que aplicar en una capa diferente mas color pues la original al tener ese efecto no deja colocar tonos fuertes. El suelo fue una mezcla de tonos carmesí y brillos para dar el efecto de líquido

We're almost done, we just need to tweak a few details. We apply a layer over all the others with a blue tone and then the multiply effect, followed by erasing the part where the character goes, leaving a filter effect around it. And this was the result:
