Path of Exile 2 is AMAZING

Getting so hooked on a game like Path of Exile 2 is something I never thought of doing. Mostly because games of this style have never been my cup of tea, at least until December 2024, when POE 2 came out and I was encouraged to give it a try after seeing so many people excited about it. I'm certainly glad I did, between December 2024 and January 2025 I dedicated about 110 hours to it. Then, as usual in these games, I stopped playing it, not knowing if I would ever pick it up again.  A few weeks ago came a 'big' update, one of those that is worth a look. This update was accompanied by the new league, which in case someone doesn't understand what this is, basically it would be something like a new game season. My character created in December is no longer valid to play this new season, so I would have to create another one and progress again to enjoy the new content. A mechanic that in the past I found boring but now I think I've got the hang of it. So after having it at rest for 7 months, I returned to the game.  My first game (in December) was with a monk and as I didn't want to repeat, I chose to create a ranger (bow shooter). I must say that I spent the first part of the campaign with a lightning build, which was basically the most useful. However, after a while I decided to switch completely to a build focused on ice. It's not as strong as lightning, but I like it better.  I haven't recorded much because POE 2 puts too many demands on my PC, especially the CPU, and to avoid annoying crashes or high temperatures, I've been playing without recording. However, to share one of the things I love most about playing an ice build, I recorded a few sessions. I love being able to make enemies explode after freezing them, it gives a certain satisfaction to clear out enemy hordes this way.   I'm currently on Act 4, which is the new content in the game and I'm loving it. It's a series of islands with new enemies, bosses and rewards. I don't know if finishing all the islands will lead to the endgame or something else, I've tried not to look too much on the internet to avoid seeing any spoilers, but so far I'm finding it hilarious all the content they have put.  The bosses, although not very complicated, are also cool and quite original. I remember seeing in the announcement that there were over 20 new bosses. By the time I write this I'd say I've only seen 6 or 7, so I'm looking forward to seeing more.  And little else, the truth is I wasn't planning to talk about POE 2, but I've been hooked for so many days that I haven't played anything else and I have no intentions to do so haha. I guess the endgame will be several more hours, so I'll probably end up devoting another 100 hours on this new league. I find it amazing that this is a free update, because yes, the game costs money, but paying once and getting this kind of content for free every so often is a wonder. Besides the fact that the game is supposed to become free at some point, although there is no official date for that, only rumors that it could be for next year. 

Engancharme tanto a un juego como Path of Exile 2 es algo que nunca pensé hacer. Más que nada porque los juegos de este estilo nunca han sido de mi agrado, al menos hasta diciembre de 2024, cuando POE 2 salió y me animé a darle una probada luego de ver a tanta gente emocionada por él. Sin duda me alegra haberlo hecho, entre diciembre de 2024 y enero de 2025 le dediqué unas 110 horas. Luego como suele ser usual en estos juegos, dejé de jugarlo, sin saber si lo retomaría en algún momento.  Hace unas semanas llegó una actualización ‘grande’, de esas que vale la pena echarle un ojo. Dicha actualización vino acompañada de la nueva liga, lo cual por si alguien no entiende que es esto, básicamente vendría a ser algo así como una nueva temporada de juego. Mi personaje creado en diciembre ya no vale para jugar esta nueva temporada, por lo que tendría que crearme otro y progresar nuevamente para disfrutar del nuevo contenido. Una mecánica que en el pasado me parecía aburrida pero que ahora creo que le he agarrado el gusto. Así que luego de tenerlo en reposo por 7 meses, regresé al juego.  Mi primera partida (en diciembre) fue con un monje y como no quería repetir, opté por crearme una ranger (tiradora con arco). Debo decir que la primera parte de la campaña me la pasé con una build de rayo, que básicamente era lo más útil. Sin embargo, luego de un buen rato decidí cambiar totalmente a una build enfocada en hielo. No es tan fuerte como el rayo, pero me gusta más.  No he grabado mucho porque el POE 2 le exige demasiado a mi PC, sobre todo al CPU, y para evitar caídas molestas o temperaturas altas, he estado jugando sin grabar. Sin embargo, para compartir una de las cosas que más me gusta de jugar una build de hielo, grabé unas cuantas sesiones. Me encanta el poder hacer que los enemigos exploten luego de congelarlos, da cierta satisfacción limpiar las hordas enemigas de esta forma.   Estoy actualmente en el acto 4, que es el contenido nuevo del juego y me está encantando. Son una serie de islas con enemigos, jefes y recompensas nuevas. No sé si al terminar todas las islas llegue al endgame o venga algo más, he intentado no ver mucho en internet para no ver algún spoiler, pero de momento me está pareciendo divertidísimo todo el contenido que han metido.  Los jefes, aunque no muy complicados, también son geniales y bastante originales. Recuerdo ver en el anuncio que había más de 20 jefes nuevos. Para cuando escribo esto diría que solo he visto 6 o 7, por lo que estoy deseoso de ver más.  Y poco más, la verdad es que no tenía pensado hablar del POE 2, pero llevo tantos días enganchado que no he jugado más nada y no tengo intenciones de hacerlo jaja. Supongo que el endgame serán varias horas más, por lo que probablemente termine dedicándole otras 100 horas a esta nueva liga. Me parece increíble que esto sea una actualización gratuita, porque sí, el juego cuesta dinero, pero pagar una vez y recibir este tipo de contenido gratis cada cierto tiempo, es una maravilla. Además de que se supone que algún momento el juego pasará a ser gratuito, aunque no hay fecha oficial para eso, solo rumores de que podría ser para el año que viene.
