First I want to say, that I started using Scale Doctor not so long ago. I was in the market when the deck was pumping, so I bought the cards at almost the cost of burning them and combined them to the maximum. Now, even if I suddenly don't like this card (it seems impractical), I can always burn it almost without loss and even with 5% profit (in terms of DEC)! Also I want to ad the complitely update of Splinterlands Cards chart of DEC burning ('cos it's related to understand the whole paragrahp)). |

Only in the MAX combine, due to the presence of so many different Abilities, it is interesting to think about using it as a support card, but in unusual situations and preferably not in the first and / or second position, but deeper or even to the very rear. And what do you think about this? |

So back to the battle. The most important thing is to first have time to assess what the rival used in previous battles. That is, you always need to look at the set of 5 previous battles, which is displayed when the enemy is located. And which Splinter/Deck Combo of what you saw is most suitable for use at drawn Ruleset. |

For the Keep Your Distance Ruleset, I assumed that the enemy will choose the Summoner of the Selenia Sky, and since she has a +1 ranged attack buff, the enemy will build a deck of ranged monster cards. With Selenia I guessed right, but with Monsters not quite, but the fact that the enemy decided to choose a mage, and not a ranged card, is also good. |

Of course, I found out about my guesses only after exposing my cards and when the battlefield was loaded. The principle of building my own deck during the placement period was the following: a) obligatory Lord Arianthus in the first position; b) then I decied to set Water Elemental for the second position, because it has its own regeneration and Dodge ability c) and in the third position I decided to put the Scale Doctor in order to test him in battle – will his abilities help? (Triangle - healing the card not in the first position, Repairing the shield, Demolishing the enemy's shield. Strengthen (+1 Life) I just needed in order to pump Lord Arianthus (from his 8 Lives to 9) d) Crustacean King is an important component of the deck, because it gives the whole deck + 2 Shields and heals the frontal card. e) Dragolin Bowman was chosen as an attempt to demolish the enemy with a surprise attack from the rear. f) Pirate Archer to the rear for the remaining amount of mana as an attack support card with the Explosion ability - shoot with the damage of the next card. |

The outcome of the battle: Scale Doctor with the help of the Summoner's buff in Ranged Attack (+1) contributed to the front attack squad, also his Triangle did a good job of healing Water Elemental, and Repair Ability was applied to the frontal card of Lord Arianthus. In general, the card turned out to be very useful, but I conclude that it is good just in combination with the Selenia Sky Summoner (or with one that has a similar buff), as well as the Keep Your Distance Ruleset. |
