When people see me smiling in photos, sitting in a modern workspace or standing confidently at Manulife, they might assume this journey has been easy. But the truth behind that smile is a story of grit, perseverance, and countless silent battles.
Becoming a licensed financial advisor wasn’t simple. I had to pass trainings, review hard for the exam, and complete all the requirements before I could even start offering life insurance. It was already a victory just to reach the point where I could begin helping others secure their future.
But getting licensed is only the beginning.
Selling insurance, both traditional and variable is far from easy. I have to meet people online and offline, approach strangers, friends, and even relatives to talk about the importance of being prepared for uncertainties. Most of the time, I hear rejections. People say next time, no budget, or simply ignore my message. There are days I go home with zero progress and question if I’m really cut out for this.
The hardest part? We have to meet a quota or a required sales to stay active in the industry. There are months when I’ve had zero sales, and that puts my career at serious risk. I try not to show it, but deep down, it feels like I’m constantly on the edge fighting to keep this dream alive. There are moments when I feel like giving up. But I choose to keep going.
Because behind every rejection is one more chance to help someone understand the importance of life, health, and financial security. These photos capture not just my journey but my purpose.
As the end of the month draws near, I carry hope that I can meet my sales quota, so I can continue doing what I believe I’m called to do: help people become financially secured and protected.
To those reading this, if you’ve ever thought of getting insurance or investing in your future, please know that it matters. Not just for your protection, but for people like me who work hard, not to pressure, but to genuinely care.
