Yesterday was a very special day because it was my mother’s birthday. Even if I am far away from them, I am so grateful that I was able to celebrate with my family through video call. It truly warmed my heart seeing them gathered together to make my mother feel loved on her special day. ☺️❤️
My elder brother prepared a wonderful surprise for her. He went home very early in the morning. He brought home different kinds of food to cook, like fresh pork, some fish, spaghetti ingredients, and vegetables. The meat and pechay he bought, he cooked into boiled pork soup. He knows how much our mother appreciates having something delicious prepared for her, especially on her birthday. They also grilled the fish and cooked spaghetti, making sure there were dishes she would enjoy. He really made the effort to make the day extra special. ❤️
He also brought sliced bread to pair with the spaghetti. The spaghetti became the filling for the bread, something simple yet comforting that we always love eating together.
Of course, he didn’t forget the cake so my mother would have something to blow a candle with. ☺️
During the day, it was just my mother, my father, my elder brother, my nephew, and my sister-in-law at home. There were no visitors, just a simple family gathering. But I believe these are the moments that are the most meaningful. My nephew was so energetic and kept singing with a big smile on his face. He sang loudly and even helped my mother blow out the candle. Even though it was a small celebration, their happiness was so genuine. Their faces showed so much joy and love. Moments like this make me feel so grateful and blessed.❤️❤️❤️
Later in the evening, my sister, my other brothers, and my in-laws arrived after work. Even though they were tired from the day, they still made time to come home to celebrate. They brought more food to share, like stir-fry noodles, lumpia shanghai, and another cake. They sang the birthday song again, and my mother blew out the candle together with my nephew, who was still very excited because there was another cake and another round to blow the candle. It may have been a simple gathering, but it was overflowing with love and happiness. ❤️❤️❤️
Sometimes, we think we need a big celebration with many people to feel special. But yesterday, I was reminded that being together as a family, sharing food, and showing our love are what truly matter. Even if some of us, like me, my elder sister, and younger brother, were not able to go home, we still felt connected. ❤️
I am really thankful for technology that allowed me to see them and celebrate even from afar. My heart is so full seeing my mother happy and smiling on her birthday. Simple moments like this remind me that family is everything. ☺️❤️
I realized again that what matters most is not how grand the celebration is, but the effort and love we give to make our loved ones feel special. Seeing my mother’s smile and hearing her laughter yesterday was priceless. ❤️☺️
I am so thankful to my elder brother for preparing the surprise and to everyone in the family who made time to be there. I may be far, but my heart is always close to them. ☺️❤️
