Afternoon everyone….
Obviously from the we title you know that I’m going to show off a gold panda coin. But I’d like to explain.
When I first got back into stacking these were the coins that caught my eye. Well I had amassed a beautiful collection of graded MS70 one ounce silver pandas. I had the entire series which began in 1983.
They weren’t as popular as they are currently, but they were very hard to find in MS70 grade. A few of them I paid as much a some semi key date Morgan’s.
Well roughly four years ago or maybe five. I was adding the newly released panda MS70 to my collection. While I was there I looked at each coin.
That’s when I lost it….
=============================
Nearly half of the coin had developed milk spots on them. This is now a commonly known fact. Silver panda coins are notorious for getting milk spots.
Well that was it for me. I lost so much money on them because of the milk spots. I sold every single one of them.
I no longer buy any silver pandas. But I do have a few gold pandas still. I even have a few graded gold pandas.
Here is one for you today…..
