Some people are fly by the seat of their pants, others need to have a totally structured out plan, very few are in the middle. You either are a planner and goal oriented person or you are not.
As a stacker, setting goals is very important. But remember setting unobtainable goals will make you lose focus and interest. Setting small goals first and hitting them, gives you a better perspective of what’s realistic.
As a collector it’s completely different then stacking. When I crossed over to stacking numerous years ago now. My first goal didn’t have a time frame, it was a goal of obtaining 200 ounces of silver.
Once I saw what it took for me to hit that goal, I was able to set a goal with a time frame. So I started setting yearly goals, they weren’t easy to hit but were not pipe dreams either. Cutting back on other things in order to hit the goal was a must.

It’s been a couple years now of hitting my ultimate goal in silver weight. My goal now is to start hitting my gold goals. This is a much more challenging goal for me.
Why???
Because I don’t work for a company and have a consistent paycheck. I own a business that gets paid at job completion. So after getting paid, I need to pay all of my bills first, then figure out what bills will come in prior to my next check and job completion. Having that money for the business comes first, so finding $500-$600 at one time to buy a quarter ounce of gold is much more difficult.
Buying silver is much easier. Squeezing $100-$150 is much more manageable to me. That’s why you still see me buying silver.
My ultimate goal is to use the gold to silver ratio and convert the bull of my silver into gold. But the gold to silver ratio will need to come down into the mid 50’s before I make that move.
