Afternoon everyone…..
We’ve had some great weather so far down the shore. Sunday due to the inbound hurricane being out to see hundreds of miles away. They would only let you out up to your waist in the water. There weren’t any really big waves, Wildwood Crest is not known for big waves and you can typically walk out pretty far before the water gets above your waist.
We did the first two days on the beach, then decided to take a break for one day and take a trip to Cape May.
Cape May is a very historical area with beautiful Victorian houses, a lighthouse, beautiful beaches and tons of site-seeing.
We have done the lighthouse several times now. It one of the most well kept lighthouses I’ve ever been to.
We did the walk to the top, which is 199 steps up a narrow metal spiral staircase. But it’s a really great view.
We then headed to the center of town where there is a strip on Washington Street where there are all kinds of cool shops and boutiques.
You could spend an entire day easily browsing through these shops. There was a dog boutique along the way. We picked up a few things for Peanut, a fresh baked dog treat made with peanut butter in the shape of a bone, she got a bow tie that attaches to her collar with seashells on it.
We also stopped into the Peanut Butter store. It’s all freshly made nut butters, baked goods, and homemade chocolates with nuts. We did buy a couple cooks that we shared, and a large handmade peanut butter cup. Sorry no pictures.
On our way out of Cape May we stopped at the Madison Bakery. They are well known for their cinnamon buns. They even have a mural on the side of the building stating that.
It was a little late in the day and most of their cases were empty already. But we did manage to get a few of their cinnamon buns, which we are going to have today.
That’s it for today. More to come soon.
