Hello hivers, an happy Wednesday to you all! I'm having a very busy day, because later in the afternoon there will be the opening of a collective art exhibition where I exhibit 6 of my oil paintings on canvas with other 3 female local artists, so now I'm a little excited, but I'll tell you more about it tomorrow. ❤️ Now I'm here to share with you a portrait I drew yesterday in the afternoon:
I use to exercise my hands sketching and drawing almost every day. Even if my own style is an illustrative style, it's very important for me to study the human bodies or other things and even if I prefer to spend my time painting in my style, I know there is always something new to learn or to improve and so, yes, I need to exercise my hands.
To draw this woman portrait I studied a wonderful photo by the american photographer Diane Arbus directly from a book of photos by her I bought years ago :
I needed around 30 minutes to draw it, but it was a very interesting and useful exercise, believe me. ❤️ I hope you like it!
Now I have to run to wear my dress for the opening and to breath breath breath hoping the natural anxiety I always feel before an opening run away from me. 😁 See ya soon and stay safe, Silvia
