This week, I found a new calling. For years I have been scrolling Amazon and creating lists of things I would like to buy. Not knowing, I could be making money with it!!!
I came across a video showing how you can market products for Dick's Sporting goods. I started a Pinterest and a new Instagram account and named it Simgirl Sales. Then, I went to Dicks Affiliate program and applied. (Do not do this! You will be removed from both Pinterest and Instagram sites for Spam.)
While doing my own research I found that, Amazon has their own affiliate program where you can get paid a commission for each product a person buys from your marketing link.
I have always like marketing, and thought this would be a fun idea, and maybe make some extra money.
I started by searching for some cool looking clothes. Something sparkly to catch the viewer's eye and lure them in.
Then I searched for some high ticket items, so that if I can get a few sales, I would make a decent commission. I found myself drawn to the electronics section. There is just so many cool things on Amazon!
I spent hours searching for cool products, creating my marketing links. I found a cool pair of AV glasses that can be used to play games. I found an inflatable movie screen for the back yard, and a set of tiki torches that are also Bluetooth speakers.
I then wanted to add some pink stuff, since the movie Barbie just made over a billion dollars in sales, and right now the world is pink. I found a cute rug, curtains for a canopy bed, a fluffy chair, and this cloud couch that looks super comfy!
I heard back from Dick's and they said that I was not big enough to promote their stuff. They want someone with traffic and who owns their own website. (I will be building my own website.)
I may have gotten carried away going into Amazon and making links to stuff, but it was so much fun to do.
Here is the complete list of the items I have created a marketing link from Amazon. For each sale, I will get a small commission from the seller. The commissions are sent to you 90 days after the sale. So this could be a very nice passive income for anyone who has the time to put into making the links and promoting them.
