What comes to mind when you think of a coffee shop? Any coffee shop, for that matter.
Warm, fuzzy and cozy! Dimly lit sodium lamps, radiating a comforting warm colour. Some mellow music playing in the background with vintage decoration.
So clearly, considering the general ambience of coffee shops, the most unique coffee shop would be a shop that is Outdoorsy, vibrant colours and amidst nature! As unbelievable as it sounds, I did find just the place that fits the bill to the dollar! The place is called Green Lounge, and it is, well, as you may have guessed it, very green!
Hands down this is THE most unique coffee shop I have ever been to. And it was also very surprising how much I enjoyed the place given how big of a fan I am of those cozy, dimly lit sodium lamp environments! Maybe because I went there in the winter. I am quite positive that I would not have enjoyed this place nearly as much had it been in the scorching heat of a fine (?!) summer afternoon!
Either way, it was quite the surprise! I had no idea how different the cafe was going to be. It was simply on our route and we were in need of a cup of coffee.
I particularly liked this shot because of that perfect snap of the birdie spreading its wings in the background!
Now on to the most important part of a coffee shop - The Coffee itself, duh!
The latte was good, but nothing to write home about really. I guess this is one of those coffee shops where something else other than the coffee itself takes center stage. The environment, the rooftop location and the decor is the main selling point of this shop. And it is not to say the coffee is bad. It's not. However, as I said, the coffee is nothing too extraordinary. And when you have a choice of, for lack of a better word, ordinary coffee, it's the environment that's sets you apart and makes a cafe extraordinary!
