Compassion for animals in difficult times (Engl / Spn)

Today I will make an exception by writing this post in my beloved vegan community. I know this is not the ideal niche, but it is a vegan community, where the love of animals is a premise and is part of our life. Even though I am not 100% vegan, (because the economic and operating conditions of my country do not allow me to be, since I could not eat almost anything, and because I have not made the 100% transition to veganism), I have ALWAYS loved the animals and plants, this has been a guiding principle in my life and has been one of the fundamental reasons when making important decisions.

Sé que este no el nicho idóneo, pero es una comunidad vegana, en donde el amor a los animales es una premisa y es parte de nuestra vida. Aun cuando yo no sea 100% vegana, (porque las condiciones económicas y de funcionamiento de mi país no me permiten serlo, pues no podría comer casi nada, y porque no he hecho la transición 100% al veganismo), SIEMPRE he amado a los animales y plantas, este ha sido un norte en mi vida y ha sido una de las razones fundamentales a la hora de tomar decisiones trascendentes.

I have made this post because it is a secret to no one that in my country, Venezuela, we are experiencing VERY DIFFICULT times. We are practically on the brink of a civil war, or you could say we are already in a civil war, but a war with its own unique characteristics. In any case, these are complex and violent times, which affect us all. I am not going to go into political reflections or analysis, because that is not the objective of this post, but I will speak for those non-human people who surround us, and who are sentient beings, and who unfortunately do not have the vocabulary to express themselves: ANIMALS.

> Este post lo he hecho, porque para nadie es un secreto que, en mi país, Venezuela, estamos viviendo momentos MUY DIFÍCILES. Estamos prácticamente al borde de una guerra civil, o podría decirse que ya estamos en guerra civil, pero una guerra con sus propias y únicas características. En todo caso, son tiempos complejos y violentos, que nos afectan a todos. No voy a entrar en reflexiones ni análisis políticos, porque ese no es el objetivo de este post, pero sí hablaré por aquellas personas no humanas que nos rodean, y que son seres sintientes, y quienes lamentablemente no tienen el vocabulario para expresarse por sí mismos: LOS ANIMALES.

I just want to make a call to my fellow Venezuelans, and to all those who are experiencing a situation similar to what we are experiencing in my country, to be compassionate towards animals. I perfectly understand the fear, anguish and desperation that it means to have anarchy and violence in the environment, to have guns, tear gas, incendiary bombs fired around your home. Even though I currently live in a town, I have experienced it before and I am experiencing it now, and I know that many Venezuelans are also experiencing it to a lesser or greater extent, I know that in large cities the situation is much more serious. I can only say that the will of my people be respected, that God protect us, God take care of us, that divine justice be done soon, in human time, not in heavenly time; But, just as humans experience all those negative emotions, the animals around us also feel them, perhaps to a greater extent, because they, by their nature, have much more acute senses and perceive all super-increased environmental stimuli, and lack of sufficient reasoning to understand the situation, to understand what is happening, they only perceive that they are in danger, that their physical integrity is at risk, which is 100% true. I invite you to read this post, which we did a while ago, in which we explain the effects of explosions and noises produced by pyrotechnics on animals:

> Solo quiero hacer un llamado, a mis compatriotas venezolanos, y a todos aquellos que estén experimentando una situación similar a la que estamos viviendo en mi país, para que sean compasivos con los animales. Comprendo perfectamente el miedo, la angustia y la desesperación que significa que haya anarquía y violencia en el entorno, el que estén disparando armas de fuego, bombas lacrimógenas, bombas incendiarias alrededor de tu hogar. Aun cuando actualmente yo vivo en un pueblo, ya lo he vivido antes y lo estoy viviendo ahora, y sé que muchos venezolanos lo están experimentando también en menor o mayor medida, sé que en las ciudades grandes la situación es mucho más grave. Sólo puedo decir, que la voluntad de mi pueblo sea respetada, que Dios nos ampare, Dios nos cuide, que se haga justicia divina pronto, en tiempo humano, no en tiempo celestial; pero, así como los humanos experimentamos todas esas emociones negativas, los animales que nos rodean también las sienten, quizás en mayor medida, porque ellos, por su naturaleza, tienen sus sentidos mucho más agudos y perciben todos los estímulos ambientales súper aumentados, y carecen del suficiente raciocinio para comprender la situación, para entender lo que está pasando, ellos sólo perciben que están en peligro, que su integridad física está en riesgo, lo que es 100% verdad. Les invito a leer este post, que hicimos hace un tiempo, en el que explicamos los efectos de las explosiones y ruidos producidos por la pirotecnia en los animales:

I want to call on you to take care of animals, whether they are pets or not. If you have dogs or cats in your homes, do not leave them outside the house, keep them safe inside the home. It is terrifying for a dog to be alone in an area where it may be vulnerable, or where it is simply alone, without the company of its humans. Terror, anguish and despair are frightening for them, so let's be compassionate, put ourselves in the place of our animals and shelter them close to us, with us, so that they feel protected and loved by their herd. Also with cats, let's give them shelter and protection, because they also feel terror. And for those who have caged birds, (which I find detestable), still, place them in a safe place. And when it comes to community dogs and cats, it costs us nothing to protect them in our homes temporarily, to give them a little comfort, water and food, while the whirlwind of violence passes.

> Quiero hacerles un llamado a cuidar a los animales, sean o no mascotas. Si tienen perros o gatos en sus hogares, no los dejen fuera de la casa, manténgalos seguros dentro del hogar. Es terrorífico para un perro estar solo en un área en donde puede ser vulnerable, o en donde simplemente esté solo, sin la compañía de sus humanos. El terror, la angustia y la desesperación son espantosos para ellos, entonces, seamos compasivos, pongámonos en el lugar de nuestros animales y refugiémoslos cerca de nosotros, con nosotros, que se sientan protegidos y amados por su manada. También con los gatos, démosles cobijo, protección, pues ellos también sienten terror. Y para quienes tienen aves enjauladas, (cosa que me parece detestable), igual, colóquenlas a resguardo. Y si de perros y gatos comunitarios se trata, no nos cuesta nada protegerlos en nuestros hogares temporalmente, darles un poco de consuelo, agua y comida, mientras pasa el torbellino de violencia.

I just wanted to say this, make this call. I don't know whether or not I'll be able to work regularly, because the Internet connection is terrible where I live, and power fluctuations have occurred, so it's very likely that my interaction on Hive will be drastically reduced, I hope this doesn't happen, but it's a posibility.

> Sólo quería decir esto, hacer este llamado. No sé si podré o no trabajar con regularidad, porque la conexión de Internet está pésima en donde vivo, y han ocurrido fluctuaciones eléctricas, así que es muy probable que mi interacción en Hive se reduzca drásticamente, yo espero que esto no ocurra, pero es una posibilidad.
