It's really a good opportunity to discuss this here in perfect timing. This theme of the week from #hivenaija is one of the best to have ever come across. Usually, I seldom respond to prompt, but this topic inspires me to express my perspective. We are in the age where social media has really redefine the way we connect with people and sharing our data. We have so many traditional social media giants, who have turn our online interactions and our data to their new oil wells, with floating ADS and data extraction which post a very serious risk concerns.
I will need to discuss this as brief as possible, touching many areas on the discovery of Ecency, and the opportunity it has offered. Possibly and hopefully an individual who is new to this platform may save this piece to pay a cost back to this article If at anytime needed. It is my thoughtful desire to interact in this topic as to express my overall experiences for at least a short time I have been here.
Am not the best, and this writing might not cover everything expected particularly from people who have been here before me. However, expressing my own kind of views and experiences are my cause. With that being said; I would love to recognize @Hivenaija and @ecency for a beautiful corporation granting a floor for massive self-expression and knowledge shared, which with all certainty will help some people discover more about this great platform, particularly the newbies.
DISCOVERING ECENCY:
I know that there are people out there yet to discover this platform the same way it took me time to hear or know about this platform. I came across ecency through my personal research for decentralize social media protocols through **"dappradar" being my usual activity, searching for new defi dapps released into the decentralised world has blockchain keeps evolving.** I never knew that @ecency was operating on hive blockchain, {but I knew about Hive then and I had My account then already} until I decided to check on it. It was simple enough to get on ecency has a link on dappradar sent me directly to google play store where I downloaded the app. On launching the application in my device, I saw, **"Login with hivesigner"**
that made me to go read a little about the application. Then I knew It was another interface for Hive blog. The login process was smooth enough with my keys, almost with zero stress. The app interface was for the first time like as if I was operating **META** application, I was like wooh!! "**Is this really on hive blockchain**?" This was my first day with eccency mobile app.
#### DID I NOTICE SOMETHING DROPPING LIKE POINTS?
Ok! now let's discuss this; so while going through the app, and interacting with users content by sharing moments on comments; I notice that I had some notifications on my phone. When I tried to check, it was notifications from ecency.
"OOh! so ecency notifies a user wow!" What I muttered anyway:) The only interface on hive blog I have seen this features, making it easy enough to follow up on trending. Like; I don't miss reading articles from my favorite authors. Okay, so I login to the app to check on these notifications, a I saw a bell- like button below at the right hand corner of the app;
Okayh! right here. Simple enough, I could see all the comments, replies, transfers and mentions at once here. making it easy to check on what I want to access without much trouble. I also saw a wallet button, close to the bell button, so I clicked on it.
Aright, right here, I could see my ecency points hahah! I clicked on it and the points where added to my balance. At first, I thought I would be able to withdraw the balance there HAHAH! but no! I Took my time to go through and I discovered that you can only gift the points out to a friend, or promote content with it and also boost your account.
Hey! recently I tried @ecency **"BOOST+"** features for the first time. It was 7 days boosting with 1500 ecency points, a delegation of 210 HP was sent to me ahhah! wow! it was really helpful. Am planning on boosting again. you know you can easily buy points with your debit card? yes of course , although I have not tried it before but hey let me show you.

I must say that ecency has offered a way to easily navigate through all your activities here on hive blog. You know it's very rewarding using ecency interface. again one more thing, Interacting with my wallet, I get to see all my earnings from the content published and also earnings from the comments I make. { that's if my comments are appreciated } But ecency gives you points on every actions.
Moving on, I heard it's benefiting delegating your Hp to ecency. I learnt they pay almost 100% in curation reward { I think, if time permits, I would have loved to talk on this too } yes! that's true I delegated a very small a mount to ecency although I don't really have much Hp, { feeling bad about that though, It denies my opportunity of earning good from curation rewards} but am working on that anyway.
Before this escapes my memory, Let me use this medium to ask why it is not possible to Buy ecency points with HBD or Hive? @ecency yes, because it could have made it a lot more easier just buying points with HBD you know. saving stress from doing it the traditional way.
##### HAVE YOU HEARD OF ECENCY WAVES?

It's surprising how Ecency has offered all these features entirely for free, making it easy to live on Hive. ahahah!

If there was enough time, I would have loved to share my experiences on Ecency web version. But I should say it briefly; There have been a very awesome improvement on the version, I so love it. Am I addicted to this front end? yes! almost to call it "**addiction"** If that is the right word, then fine.
