Hellooo hivers in this Family & Friends community. How are you all ? I hope you are doing well. In this blog I want to share about my happiness when reunited with my highschool friends.
Some time ago, I finally got to meet up with two of my high school friends after a long absence. It felt like nostalgia suddenly rekindled—like opening a memory album filled with laughter, stories, and old school pranks. We'd been planning to meet for a while, but this was the first time our timing really clicked.
Our meeting was simple yet meaningful. We decided to have lunch at one of our city's hottest burger joints, M-Burger. This place had long been on one of my friends' "must-visit" lists, as they said their burgers were famous for being incredibly delicious and juicy. As soon as we arrived, the atmosphere was immediately comfortable—the interior was modern yet warm, with the aroma of grilled meat that immediately made our stomachs rumble.
The three of us immediately ordered their signature dishes. I chose the Cheese Melt Burger, my friend ordered the Classic Beef Burger, and the other tried the Spicy BBQ Burger. As soon as we took our first bite, we all looked at each other and laughed. "Wow, it's so delicious!" "Oh, no," one of my friends said, giving me a thumbs up. "The soft bun, the juicy meat, the savory melted cheese—everything tasted just right. It's no wonder this place is called one of the best burgers in town."
After our stomachs were full, we decided to head to a nearby coffee shop, Cassaidn. The place was cozy and had a great vibe for a long chat. We chose to sit in a corner with a fairly wide sofa.
I ordered my favorite Iced Latte, while one of my friends, a true coffee lover, ordered a V60, and another chose Iced Teh Tarik because she doesn't like caffeinated drinks. We also added some snacks to the table, like French fries, nuggets, and sausages to accompany our afternoon conversation.
The atmosphere grew more intimate as our conversation began to touch on our high school days. We laughed about the little mischief we used to do, like skipping gym class just to get snacks from the cafeteria, or how we used to argue about our favorite songs and artists. It's funny how much things have changed, but our laughter and chemistry are still the same.
Time flew by so quickly. From high school, the conversation shifted to current life—about work, family, and even dreams that had been put on hold. There was a sense of joy and emotion as we listened to their stories. Even though our lives had now taken different directions, it felt good to know we could still sit together, talk, and support each other.
It was getting late, and we realized we had been sitting there for almost three hours. But time seemed to fly by so quickly when we were with people who made us feel at home. Before leaving, we naturally took a group photo—a small but precious moment to remember. The coffee shop happened to have a photo booth, so we took a photo there to take home as a memento.
That day's meeting may have been simple, but it had great meaning for me. Amidst the busyness and routine that often makes us feel bored, reuniting with old friends was like a renewed energy. There was an inexplicable warmth—a mix of nostalgia, laughter, and gratitude for still having good relationships with people from our past.
That day reminded me that true friendship isn't measured by how often we meet, but by how strong the bond remains, even after so much time has passed. And I know that, even though we might be busy with our own lives again after this, the memories of that afternoon at M-Burger and that small coffee shop will always be cherished in our memories.
Truly, a small reunion with high school friends isn't just about delicious food or casual coffee, but about celebrating the journey that brought us together again—with grown-up versions of ourselves, but still sharing the same laughter as before.
