This is basically my LinkedIn profile in an article

Let me take you on a journey through my career path, filled with twists and turns that have eventually led me to a place where I landed in an industry aligned with a purposeful mission: climate tech. It's been quite a ride, and I am excited about the direction my professional life has taken.

My adventure began with my first career-related internship in the automotive branch: fixing up cars. Then, moved onto SaaS. It was fun, as the work on this was very varied due to the different companies we collaborated with. Next, I returned to the automotive sector. I learned a lot as a designer, and I have very fond memories of my job there. However, when I looked at it from the grand scheme of things, it revolved around fixing up and reselling older cars.

“We are closing down this office.”

Yikes. On to the next job – fintech, a world filled with intricacies of pension gaps, investments, and financial security. It was an eye-opening experience that made me more conscious of the financial aspect of life. It was the first job where I became more aware of aspects I never really thought about before. Pensions? Doesn't the government arrange that because I'm working for all these years? And there's a financial GAP?! But I want to retire early.

A company with a mission

A serendipitous encounter led me to the world of climate tech: an industry with a meaningful mission. The focus shifted from designing products for profit to creating solutions that could safeguard our planet's future. It's not just about the buzz and hype around this industry – every pixel I design contributes to a greater cause, combating climate change and preserving the environment for future generations.

I am excited about the fact that I am in an industry where my skills and creativity can contribute to a greater purpose. And it's not just about the industry; it's also about me personally. I've become more aware and conscious of my own environmental impact. I am far from being mother Theresa, but I am starting to be more aware of buying plastic-wrapped vegetables in the supermarket and the amount of pollution caused by flights. It's gotta start somewhere, right?

As I reflect on my path from automotive to SaaS, fintech, and finally climate tech, I've learned a lot along the way, and there's significance to each experience. Each step was a stepping stone, equipping me with skills and perspectives that ultimately led me to where I am today. I did enjoy that I explored different industries and experiences and I recommend it; each one has its own lessons to offer.
