Overview
Skatehive Bounties is a new feature designed to bring more engagement and participation to the Skatehive community. Similar to sections like Mag, Feed, DAO, and Maps, this section will allow users to create and complete trick challenges in exchange for Hive rewards.
Users will be able to:
- Set up trick-based bounties with Hive rewards.
- Submit video/photo proof to complete bounties.
- Earn Hive by completing challenges and getting selected as winners.
This system will create a fun and interactive way to engage the community, encourage more content creation, and introduce new users to the Skatehive ecosystem.
How Bounties Work
Bounty Creation
A user (bounty creator) sets up a bounty through an easy-to-use interface where they provide details such as:
- Bounty Title – A short, engaging title for the challenge.
- Bounty Description – Clear instructions on the trick or task to be completed.
- Bounty Deadline – Timeframe for submission (1 week to 1 year).
- Number of Winners – The creator can select 1 to 1000 winners.
- Prize Distribution – Options for splitting the reward among multiple winners.
Once the bounty is created, it will be displayed in the Bounties section, where users can view available challenges and participate.
Submitting Entries
Users who want to complete a bounty will:
- Click on the specific bounty post.
- Upload their video/photo proof.
- Submit their entry before the deadline.
All submissions will be visible on the bounty page, where users and the bounty creator can engage with them.
Winner Selection & Prize Distribution
- Once the deadline passes, the bounty creator reviews all submissions and selects winners.
- Winners receive the prize directly in Hive.
- If multiple winners are chosen, the prize is split accordingly (e.g., 50%-50% for 2 winners, 33.33% each for 3 winners, etc.).
Prize Pool & Security
To ensure transparency and secure reward distribution:
- The prize pool will be held in an escrow Hive account until the bounty ends.
- When a bounty is created, the creator transfers the prize amount to the escrow account.
- Once winners are selected, the funds are distributed automatically from escrow, reducing the risk of fraud or non-payment.
Technical Implementation Considerations
To build this feature, Skatehive dev team should focus on:
- Bounty Page UI – A dedicated section similar to Mag, where bounties are listed.
- Bounty Creation Form – A user-friendly form for setting up bounties.
- Submission System – A method for users to upload their videos/photos.
- Escrow & Payment System – A secure way to hold and distribute Hive rewards.
- Winner Selection Panel – A way for bounty creators to review entries and select winners.
- Notifications – Inform users about new bounties, deadlines, and results.
Why Launch Bounties on Skatehive?
- More Engagement – Encourages active participation from the community.
- More Content – Users will create and share more skateboarding clips.
- Monetization for Skaters – Provides an easy way for skateboarders to earn Hive.
- Community Growth – Attracts new users by offering fun and rewarding challenges.
