I wanted to create a series that explores the fragile boundary between seduction and discomfort, beauty and distortion. The veil — both a literal net and a metaphor — was meant to conceal and reveal at once. I wanted it to feel like a second skin, something both protective and suffocating
The model’s gaze was essential; I aimed to capture a look that challenges the viewer, not just invites them. Her expression isn’t about pleasing — it’s about confrontation, about intensity. I wanted to blur the line between attraction and aggression
The lighting and shadows were designed to carve out the emotional topography of the face — tension, defiance, vulnerability. That red vertical line? I wanted it to feel like a rupture in the image, a scar or warning, something that disrupts the softness and adds unease
I wasn’t looking for perfection. I was searching for contrast — of texture, of emotion, of expectation. I wanted this series to feel cinematic, raw, and emotionally charged
This is my entry for the #monomad challenge
