Three Tune Tuesday in The Pub?

@slothlydoesit · 2025-11-04 20:30 · The Pub

Good evening buzzers! It's been an eventful few days/weeks on Hive, which seems to be the case more often than not, strangely enough, for our little user number. There always seems to be some drama or 'fun' happening on Hive. I guess we all have different exposures to it. Personally, I enjoy sitting on the fence and watching the world go by.

The recent drama has resulted in the opening of 'The Pub' on Hive. Although I had asked Gemeni AI to make the above image, I like the fact that it named my pub 'Slow and Steady Inn'. Sometimes AI pulls a rabbit out of the hat and surprises me! Sloth and Steady Inn would have been my name, but I like it all the same! Primarily since I simply used the prompt 'sloth picking 'the best pub song' on the jukebox in a bar full of mythical creatures.'

So, The Pub is open, and all are welcome! The first post launching thepub was made by the new account '@thepub'. Check out the opening post here.

Now, whether you care about the drama or just want to support a cool new community on Hive, the pub is for you! Things are just getting warmed up there; they've lit the hearth and are letting it catch fire...actually, that might be a bad analogy here, but it's too late!

I like the idea of 'Thepub' becoming a central meeting point for Hive, somewhere that supports everyone and allows Hive to flourish and show its best side! We all know Hive could use some positivity about now, so let's foster this as a 'historic pub vibe' with laughter, love and celebration!

On that note, what's your 'Pub Song'?

It's Tuesday, which means the perfect opportunity to participate in @ablaze's #TTT (ThreeTuneTuesday). Check out his latest post to find out more.

Today, let's talk pub songs! Being a Scot, pubs are a pretty big deal, and we have some belters of pub tunes! The first thing that springs to mind is 500 miles! Sometimes Hive feels like walking 500 miles, only to realise you have to walk 500 more to be the sloth that ends up with $0.1 of Hive!

Now, pubs are notorious for drunk people, and drunk people are known mainly for a few things. Fighting, but there's enough of that on Hive already, so we'll focus on Dancing! What's the best song to get people dancing in the pub? Sweet Caroline? Cha Cha slide? Dancing Queen?

Or one that's particularly fun at a Scottish party, 'The Slosh'. Check out Jack and Victor (Still Game) performing the iconic dance:

The song is actually Beautiful Sunday by Daniel Boon.

Finally, for us Scots, the pub is a place to enjoy football. Although we don't have much national team success to celebrate, we appreciate any excuse to have a knees-up and enjoy some beers! One such song that has become entwined with Scottish football culture is "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie." Catching on after Scotland successfully qualified for the Euro 2020 competition. Yes, we celebrate the small things here! Qualification was a big deal!

So, whether you're at the pub for the community spirit, the football, the dancing or the fighting, bring your best self, grab a pint and enjoy the vibes!

Until next time, Sloth out!
