When my cannabis seeds sprout you never know how they will turn out. Usually my plants grow to a few feet tall. Well it seems this plant just wanted to stay small, and only grew a little over a foot tall. I do not have a lot of experience growing autos, meaning a strain that flowers based on time and not the season. And being my first outdoor auto, I guess this sets a strange president. I hope autos grow more than a foot tall.. lol Well I know they do, my previous Gorilla Glue plants got to "normal" cannabis plant size. But seems this grow just wanted to stay a bonsai.. lol I did not trim it at all, this is all natural growth. Not sure what caused this one to stay so small, I gave it lots of light.. Lots of root space.. and it just decided to stay small.

Planting it in May it has had many months to flower, it started to bud as soon as I planted it.

Before harvesting, I bring out my laptop and microscope and check the buds for "ripeness". The oils on the buds change colors and can tell me when its time to harvest. They go from a clear color to milky and finally amber.

Indeed it is ready, so I yank it and bring it inside. And Measuring it.. got up to about 15" tall... lol wow. Most my plants are 2-3 times taller.

Seems like it had some troubles partly through its grow, I see some bud rot I will need to cut off.

Lots of bud is good though.

I cut out the brown and black spots, and leave the good buds to the side. Soon its time to wash them.

Taking a bucket and some lemons I squeeze them into the water and soak cannabis buds for a minute or two. Moving them around to get any dirt, insects or debris off of them.

Wet but clean. I rinse off the lemon juice and let them sit for awhile.

Finally I trim them, using my auto trimmer it only takes one load.. lol wont be much from this little plant.

15 turns clockwise and 15 turns of the auto trimmer counter-clockwise and I have trimmed buds.

A little bit of shake below, I could make edibles out of it but honestly I am good for the moment.

Hah! There we go, what a harvest looks like from a 15 inch tall cannabis plant.. If I get over a 1/2 ounce I would be amazed. But now I need to let them dry for a few days.

They are still a bit wet, so I leave them on the table for about an hour.

Then once mostly dry, I put them out on cardboard paper and let them dry for a few days. After that it will be time to start the long curing process. Putting them in jars and burping them every so often. But in about three months these buds should be ready to try. And I am quite curious how my smallest harvest turns out.
## What's next?
I still have three other plants growing outside, they are photos. Unlike this plant they will keep growing until the seasons change. I will do an update post on them soon. But wanted to report the auto flower I started in May has now been harvested. I started another seed, some of my blue dream that some how seeded. Not sure how that seed will turn out but I got a bunch of them. So I am going to give direct sowing a try once it soaks in water for 24 hours.
