In the last few days we have harvested the garlic that was in the ground and it is now drying. Its hard to say which is which, but I am pretty sure the larger ones are music garlic and the others are from the starter kit as well. Soon I need to buy another and be ready to plant more cloves in the raised beds. Maybe I will do more next year, if I can cure these well I am sure we can consume all of this before the next harvest in a year from now.
Now I need to keep them dry and cool for about 2-3 weeks and then it will be time to peel them and cure them further.
I am happy with these, they came out bigger than I thought they would.
Got myself a few dozen bulbs, each should have many cloves inside.
I cleaned as much dirt as I could without damaging the paper on the outside. Hopefully its enough.
Down below are the smaller garlic varieties. We saved a couple of those to try to eat right away.
The shallots were ready, along some of the smaller garlic.
Cutting back all the skin, it was fresh.
All chopped up, we will roast them for a bit until they can be crushed. And then we add it to butter to make a garlic butter.
The basil plants are doing well too, though the hottest days are hard on them. We got them some umbrellas to see if it will help during the mid day.
The sweet basil just keeps producing, we cook with it all the time.
Melons and cantaloupes are getting bigger. Hope they will be ready soon.

Hah one is growing off the side of the raised bed.
The peacock is still hanging around, its not calling out for a mate any more and now its molting. Dropping its feathers. At night its been sleeping in a tree near by, before the sun went down we captured this picture.
Next morning it was still up there, hah. I guess it feels safe high up in the trees.
I wonder how long it will stick around for. Been cool having that experience of one visiting us.
