I think sometimes trying to over care for plants can hurt them, last year we went to battle against the ants. Watered them nearly every day, and had all kinds of problems. Well this year we pretty much forgot about them and left the plants alone. And sure enough we got a bunch of fruit! Weird how that all works out, sometimes less is more I guess with plants.

The smell of these cantaloupes is so strong, a very sweet smell well before even cutting them open.

The bed has exploded with vines and we still have some watermelons on the way. Maybe we should have removed a few, but we just let them go wild and seems they are happy.

Pulling the ripe cantaloupes out of the bed, just check if the vine pops off and its ready.

We got three of them so far, and there are still at least two more on the vines not quite ready yet.

After letting them sit for an hour or so we cut them open. Looks perfect!

We cut one up, and left the other two in the fridge.. Man, nothing better than eating chilled cantaloupes during the summer. And they are so fresh, right off the vine.. I love it.
Soon the watermelons should be ready too, looking forward to them.
