I have been experimenting with short form content recently posting on Hive. Some of the posts are just a couple images with next to no text in them or very little. And I do not really feel good about getting $50+ dollars for such posts.
So I had an idea of creating a fund where my short form content rewards go 100% to help rewild a chosen area of my property.
What is rewilding?
It is a process of helping to build a ecosystem native to an area that helps with wild life that would otherwise not be in an area. Picking a field and adding wildflowers, native trees and plants is a way of doing this.
My land
I have a lot of fields, many acres... right now only grass is found there, mostly just fescue and broom straw. As much as this provides homes for small animals, larger ones would rather have a more dense area to be in. These fields can be turned into dense ecosystems that allow more animals to live in.
My conservation fund idea
I start small, pick an area around 1 acre in size. And focus on bringing in more diverse plants into that acre. Which plants are chosen can be a mix of wild flowers, bushes and trees native to the area. Possibly finding threatened species and propagating those to encourage their growth in the area. I will also need wood chips but I can include that in the fund as well to manage the area once bushes and trees are planted. This chosen area can be expanded to many acres as it grows, so I think this could scale quite far. Starting on the edge of the native forest I would build out from there.
Where the conservation fund and short form content come together.
Based on the idea above, any posts I make with less than 500 words will have my conservation funds beneficiary going to it 100%. And those funds will be exclusively used to build out areas for wildlife, specifically the flora native to the area.
My next step would be to create an account for this use, and do update posts from it every so often of what is being done with those funds and showing off the plants started. 100% of the funds earned in those posts will go right back into the conservation fund paying for more seeds, plants and wood chips. During the winter there will be periods of inactivity at that point I can save up funds and spend them during the following spring.
