Fussing for nothing

Everyone has their own opinions which is why it's said that, one man's food is another man's poison. What I love with every fibre of my being might be what someone else detests. That doesn't give me the right to impose it on others neither will I make others distaste something just because I don't fancy it.

However, it's quite unfortunate that people do it alot. While some are able to keep their dislikes to themselves, others never cease to make a fuss.

Over the years, I've come across people who cringe and grumble incessantly at the sight of tattoos. When I ask a few the reason for the disdain, it's always along the lines of "that guy has definitely joined cult groups, he has gone astray, derailed from his parents' discipline and just wasting his life".

The next thing you will see is a woman telling another that such guy is a cultist and parents warning their children against relating with such person.

To be honest, there happens to be some people who the presence of a tattoo on them indicates that they're part of a cult group. However, that doesn't apply to all so it doesn't really make sense when people generalise all tattoo bearers as cultists. It's without doubt a case of judging a book by its cover.

Personally, I love tattoos. Not that I will get one for myself but I admire those who do. People don't just walk into an artist's shop, take a seat and decide to scribble and draw whatever on their skin. They have a purpose for every ink they etch onto their skin.

To every tattoo, there's always a story. But one thing is pretty clear, it always serves as a reminder.

Either of success, one's principles and values, personal growth, freedom, conquered challenges and also failures. It can be a form of self-expression and a reflection of someone's personality.

There are also cases of people tattooing the names of their lover which I find heartwarming except in the case of a guy who tattooed the name of a girl he had only known for three weeks..........like seriously?

Tattoos can also be a form of therapy and healing from one's daunting past. Few days ago, I read about a girl who grew up with daily beatings and blade cuts from her adopted father. It's safe to say that she grew up with pain.

In her twenties, she was able to escape from the family and moved to another country with the hope of living a normal life. But after few months she only felt empty. Having lived with pain, it somehow became a part of her existence.

So she resorted to tattoos cause as she said, the pain made me feel alive. This is quite rare but then it happens and not everyone has knowledge of it. So while others fuss about tattoos, I on the other hand stare in admiration.
