Hello everyone, Hope you are doing so well today and that your day is going very well.
I bring you memories of a rural outreach conducted by all the youths in my zone.
Rural rugged evangelism is an opportunity that is given to youths to actually reach out to people in all the parts of my country, and it is always done every year. This is something I was looking forward to for a very long time, and I was so excited that I joined the youths last two weeks for it.
We went to a very rural area, and we reached out to a lot of people ranging from the youths to the old and even the children. I was among the people who took care of the children. As a lover of children, I did not hesitate when I was told to join the children's outreach. You could imagine the smiles on the faces of these children when we gave them gifts. They were so happy, and their smiles pierced through my heart. At one point I became so teary because of how happy those children were; they were so satisfied with whatever we gave them.
We also did medical outreach, where we did free medical checkups and also gave free meditation to people.
During the counselling session, I was so touched by the stories of the villagers; those stories just made me know that I still have more to do as far as I still need to reach out to people.
There is a girl who met me and told me she has not been able to go to school, and when I heard that, I thought maybe it was because of lack of money, but no, it was not. She told me that her father does not believe in sending a girl child to school because they believe she will be overriding her husband. I could not do much for her because her dad was hard-bent on not sending her to school, but we spoke with him. I could see the eagerness in the eyes of that girl to be schooled, but since we could not do anything about it, I left with a hole inside my heart bleeding for the girl child.
That taught me that there are people who are going through what they are not supposed to go through, and people should rise up and actually be there for people; let's be the shoulders this one can cry on.
