Hello chess players and lovers of the game,
Welcome back to my game blog, where I talk about games, my experience playing them, and everything game-related. Today, being Sunday, ends the weekend sequel to the Hivechess tournaments. Also, I have to say that it was my first weekend of gaming, where all the games I played were only chess. Infact, I did not participate in the Sunday Rento Tournament because of today's chess960 tournament.
A huge congratulations to @stayoutoftherz for winning the tournament. He is quite good at chess960. I lost two games to him, and it is not the first time.
Chess960 is not my strongest suit because of the randomness in the placement of the pieces. I finished 5th on the standings after losing my first two games, one to migmag because I did not play a move before the countdown was over, and the second game to stayoutoftherz.
Finishing with a win rate of 56%, berserk rate of 89%, performance of 1694, out of a total of games played of 9.
In this game against Tangible_ay, I thought the bishop was going to get captured anyway, no matter what I played. I failed to see that there was Bf1 and even Qf1 offering a strong exchange instead, so I played the blunderous move Qxc5, giving up the bishop to take the pawn on c5. Even after this, the game was still drawish because of the more pawns I had, and then in the end I fell for a checkmate due to time pressure.

Next up against @samostically, I lost the first game to him, but in this one, I wanted to give him a run for his money, and I sure did. Once I found that the knight captures the pawn on b2, it will be hard for my opponent to defend and even find the best moves in the time given. I was right, it was harder for him to find it as he played Bxc5.
At this point, it was a checkmate in eight moves after I captured the white bishop with my dark-square bishop, as every other move would come with a forceful response.

I got a very strong pin against Tortylian's black rook in the above position. It was hard for my opponent to break out of the pin, and I even kept adding more pressure by introducing my queen into the game with Qc3 to threaten checkmate along the diagonal. It became hard for him to stay on top for long, as I kept adding more pieces to the pinpoint.

What a weekend. Until next time.
I am @southgamer. Try gaming and thank me later.
