Hello Gamers and Game Lovers,
Welcome to another episode from my blog, where I enjoy discussing games, my experiences while playing them, and anything else game-related. And in today's episode, I played my Sunday Rento Tournament. After coming from a nice whipping from Saturday HiveChess, all I needed was a nice play on the Monopoly board.
The registration for the tournament is through the app, and you have to be at least five minutes in before the game begins, which is what I did, but somewhere along the line. I mistakenly clicked on the escape button since I was using my laptop to play the tournament, and I exited from the tournament page.
So frightened, I thought I was going to miss another round of the Sunday rento tournament like I did last week. Fortunately, I was lucky to open the app and meet up with the countdown. Since I had previously registered for the tournament, it was easy to get featured in the first round.
Fortune was a bit
At the start of the game, there are always prebought lands, which means lands are handed over to the players at random, making it more interesting and faster to play. I was given a couple of land, but the funny thing is, one player got Dubai and China and still lost. Infact, he was the first player to go bankrupt. This just speaks to how funny this game is. You could be fortunate to get some pretty expensive properties, but if you do not have the cash to build, it is of no use.
I gave all I had into purchasing Vatican when the bidding war for the place began. I did this because my cards were not looking too good for me, as I will take aggressive bargaining and trading with other players before I get what I want. So I decided to invest in the Vatican since it is just a single property, which means I could build right away, and I did that immediately.
I was also a frequent member of the prison cell, where I remained because I refused to pay the fee. The amount was not the problem, but the fact that other players had built hotels, making it hard for me to escape, so staying in prison and rolling a double was the best choice for me.
The Costly Mistake
I made a costly mistake that cost me the game. I trade Dubai for two cheap places (Libya and Turkey), because I thought I already had Greece, which will make it possible for me to build hotels in all these places. I forgot that the player using Knight already has that place, and he didn't accept any of my trades.
With this costly mistake, I knew bankruptcy would be my fate as the other fellas were fast to build on what they already had. Too bad I did not pass the first round, and it is not all bad, at least I got to enjoy myself this weekend. Until next Sunday.
See you in the next game.
