En Venezuela, la Navidad comenzó por decreto del Gobierno. Por lo tanto, hay fiestas y escenarios por todo el país que marcan el inicio de las fiestas navideñas. Sé que es raro, y comparto la opinión general. Sin embargo, en mi familia ya es tradición ir a ver la actuación y este año, en particular, presentaron grupos de gaitas colegiales. Así fue como me enteré.
Fui con mi hermana y mi sobrino caminando, ya que la presentación era muy cerca de mi casa, para ver el encendido de luces del samán. Aparte de las actuaciones de todos los grupos, el resto fue muy sencillo: no había tantas luces como en años anteriores ni mucha gente. Me acerqué y le dije a mi hermana que solo quería quedarme un ratito, ya que no quería estar mucho tiempo allí.
Otra de las razones es que, como casi no salgo de casa, quise aprovechar la oportunidad para tomar un poco de aire fresco y alejarme de las pantallas. Lo pasamos bien y a las 09:00 pm estábamos en casa.

I know it's strange, and I share the general opinion. However, in my family it's already a tradition to go and see the performance, and this year, in particular, they featured school bagpipe bands. That's how I found out about it.
I walked there with my sister and nephew, as the performance was very close to my house, to see the lighting of the samán tree. Apart from the performances by all the groups, the rest was very simple: there weren't as many lights as in previous years, nor were there many people. I approached my sister and told her that I only wanted to stay for a little while, as I didn't want to be there for too long.
Another reason is that, since I hardly ever leave the house, I wanted to take the opportunity to get some fresh air and get away from screens. We had a good time and were home by 9:00 p.m.
