Do you remember the origami star? Well, today it will once again be the protagonist of this photo. I wanted to create an image inspired by one I saw on Pinterest, where a yellow flashlight and an origami figure are used to cast a beautiful shadow. After several attempts, I captured the photograph I'm showing you today. The details I like most and find most striking in the image, in my opinion, are how the light passes through the thin layers of paper and makes it seem as if the origami itself emits its own glow. I think we should get more creative with shadows from time to time and experiment with the things we have around us—and I also think I should make more origami, haha. Since the photo I took was overly bright, I used Snapseed to lower the contrast to the minimum, and I played a bit with the light and exposure levels to achieve a result full of dark, almost gritty tones and strong edges. Personally, this is a photo I really enjoyed—both taking it and seeing the final result.
¿Recuerdan la estrella de origami? Pues hoy será nuevamente la protagonista de esta foto. Quiero hacer una fotografía inspirada en una que vi en Pinterest, donde utilizan una linterna de luz amarilla y un origami para proyectar una bella sombra. Después de varios intentos, obtuve la fotografía que les muestro hoy. Los detalles que más me gustan y más destacan de la imagen, en mi opinión, son cómo la luz traspasa las finas capas de papel y parece que el propio origami emite luz propia. Creo que deberíamos, de vez en cuando, ponernos más creativos con las sombras y experimentar con las cosas que tenemos a nuestro alrededor. También creo que debería hacer más origami, jajaja. Como la fotografía que obtuve estaba demasiado iluminada, utilicé Snapseed y bajé al máximo el contraste, además jugué un poco con los niveles de luz y exposición para obtener un resultado lleno de matices oscuros, casi sucios, y bordes fuertes. En lo personal, esta es una fotografía que me gustó mucho, tanto tomarla como el resultado.
