It's true what they say, practice makes perfect. These last few months I've been playing chess much more consistently than years ago, and I'm surprised because with this game I reached a 590 rapid rating on Lichess, wow! It's the first time I've had such a high rating. I'm surprised; I was always between 300-400, once I got to 500 but I dropped back down after not playing for a while. I'm surprised at myself. Let me show you the game:

Lichess indicates that my opponent's opening was a Sicilian Defense, French Variation.

We started off badly. Instead of developing the bishop to a fianchetto, I got the idea to move my h2 pawn to h3, to bother the knight, and he ended up taking my e5 pawn 🤦‍♂

Here, they told me, "WTF are you doing?" 😄, instead of castling. But Black didn't take advantage of it either by pushing their d5 pawn.

I got saved here. My opponent could have played bishop to c6 and I think I would have had a really bad time, losing the rook.

Later in the game, we exchanged queens. Here he had the chance to capture the bishop, but he only pushed the d2 pawn. I got lucky, honestly. Reviewing the game is a good exercise to see the horrors one commits. 😄

But I was worse, because instead of moving the rook to F8, I pushed the pawn 😄 I had checkmate.

A few more twists and turns, but in the end, it was Mate, before the opponent's pawn could promote.

Es cierto que dicen que la práctica hace al maestro, estos ultimos meses es jugado mucho mas constante al ajedrez que hace años y me sorprendo porque con está partida llegue en Lichess al ELO de 590 en partidas rápidas, guao! primera vez que tengo un ELO tan alto. Me sorprende, siempre estuve entre los 300-400, una vez lleguè a los 500 pero cai al tiempo de no jugar. Me Sorprendo de mi mismo. Les muestro la partida:

Lichess indica que la apertura aplicada por el contrincante es una defensa sicilia, variacion francesa,

comenzamos mal, en vez de sacar el arfil en fiancheto, se me ocurre mover el peon de h2 a h3, para molestar al caballo y me termina comiendo el peon de e5 🤦‍♂

Aqui, me dijeron que F!#$ estas haciendo? 😄, en vez de enrocar, pero las negras no aprovecharon tampoco en avanzar su peon de d5.

De la que me salvè aqui, mi contrincante hubiese jugado alfil en c6 y creo que la hubise pasado muy mal perdiendo la torre

Ya avanzada la partida intercambiamos damas, aqui tuvo la oportunidad de capturar el alfil, pero solo avanzó el peon de d2, tuve suerte la verdad, revisando la partida es buen ejercicio para ver los horrores que uno hace. 😄

Peor yo, que en vez de mover la torre a F8, avance el peon 😄 tenía el jaque mate.

Mas vueltas pero al final Mate, antes que coronara el peon rival.
