It still feels like yesterday we shouted Happy New Year! May 2025 bring us goodies and favours beyond our imagination!! And here we are anticipating earnestly to shout Happy New Year again! Wonderful 2026 it will be!!
Such a cycle of events we live in here on earth.
In all, God! Has been good.
With breaking through into September, the year 2025 is gradually coming to an end and it is at a time like this that we are drawned back and forced to ask ourselves, How have the year been so far? What goals have I achieved and what goals are still hanging to be achieved? Am I expecting more from the year?
Looking back, 2025 was a year of less surprises for me anyway. This is because I already knew how the year will go once there is life. Finishing my University education and graduating, I knew the year will be for my house job (A compulsory one year service to the nation before you can collect your permanent licence from the country).
Just like the name implies, it's still a year of service indeed and just like servants, sometimes you will be happy in the job when you land yourself a good supervisor and sometimes you get to work with supervisors that are very frustrating and suffocating and all you can do is to keep looking forward to the day you will finish that particular unit.

Despite the challenges the year came with, On the other hand, it has also been a year of quiet victories and small wins that might not make headlines but mean a great deal personally.
A blend of growth and struggle without will be the apt definition of what the year looks like.
Talking about goals? Well, my utmost goal was starting my Housejob and then picking as many skills as possible as this is the bedrock where my practice begins. With that, I might say that yes, I'm doing well at it, I might not have actualised all of them yet because I'm not even done with the Housejob yet but sure, I am far better than I was yesterday.
Nonetheless, I also laid down some goals I wanted to achieve especially on this space. Well, it is what it is. The year has not ended yet and I still have my eyes set on them.... I might not be able to hit the target as it is now but rest assured, I will be better than I am today by the time the year takes the last seconds to enter the next year.
Some of these goals lingered because time I can say has not been enough for me whereas others were because of life itself demanding much more attention elsewhere.
In as much as I'm not trying to show exhaustion, I still want 2026 to come fast, not to use it as escapism but because there is this renewed hope and energy that comes with starting everything afresh... It all looks like you've been given a clean slate and here you are with the board and pencils to draft how your year will go.
In the end, what makes the years we spend on earth remembered isn't because they were all rosy but, because there are moments of bitter, sweet and some unforgettable moments.
2025 for me, will always be remembered as the year I laid down the bedrock of my medical doctor practice.
