Henlo ppl. In my city it’s still #FungiFriday so here’s my contribution for it, curated by @ewkaw.
For my first submission I want to show off the delicious wild mushrooms I had on the rain season. We have edible mushrooms all year long in Mexico but the rain season brings a greater diversity.
We have an amazing fungal diversity other countries could only dream for, on the matter of edible mushrooms we rank 2nd place worldwide for species diversity but for some reason the national consumption of mushrooms is below some European countries (they have far less fungal diversity, naturally) with only 1kg per person a year, it's quite low for country with such a grandiose diversity.
We were heading to the forest for a hike when we stoped to buy some tasty mushrooms from three women, mother and daughters, who picked them just a couple hours before we arrived. They are the experts on the matter, the traditional knowledge on mushrooms gets passed mainly by the women of the family or community.
A table on the side of the row and blankets on the soil with beautiful mushrooms on display, you can buy baskets of mixed species or only your variety of choice.
Of course I went with the baskets, I want to taste them all and the taste is as it looks: pure bliss, DIVINE.
Ok that's all for today, i'll leave you with this tasty giant whos scientific name I do not remember, shame on my biologist degree. For my next post I shall redeem myself.
