Intro
Dar Gottem was never cut out for the forge. While other gnomes hammered steel into swords, he hammered scraps into wings and scales, convinced he could pass as a dragon.
One day he marched off to see a real one. Against all sense, he climbed Mount Redwyrm, lair of Rage, the ancient wyrm. Amid the hoard, Dar snatched a glowing pendant—just as Rage awoke. Fire consumed the cavern, yet somehow Dar crawled out alive, the pendant hot against his chest.
Back in New Wilhelmdale, no one believed his tale. They mocked him, called him mad. But Dar only tightened his dragon suit, chased vermin through the streets, and bellowed his victory cry:
