Hi, friends!
Seb Ogier (Toyota) showed once again that he is in class of his own with another win, this time at first time ever World Rally Championship event in Paraguay. He missed some events this season and although that, he is in a strong fight for the driver's title.
He didn't have a luck at power stage because he caught rain and could not have a chance to win 5 points on that stage. He took only one point there while Championship leader Elfyn Evans (Toyota) took 3 points.
Evans finished the rally in 2nd place with big help of weather and current WRC champion Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) finished 3rd overall. This is Neuville's first season in years that he didn't score wins so far and that just shows how weak Hyundai when compared to Toyota this year. I guess that their team principal Cyril A. is to blame over wrong team politicson the start of this year (and 2nd part of 2024 as well).
Hyundai retired Adrien Fourmaux after power stage (he finished 4th overall) because of some gearbox problem, but I am not sure if that is 100% true. That promoted his team mate Ott Tanak to 4th overall and more points which helps Tanak to stay in the title fight.
Double WRC champion Kalle Rovanpera (Toyota) finished 5th and now shares 2nd place with Seb Ogier on Championship table, both 9 points behind Evans, with Tanak 20 points behind Championship leader.
It will be interesting title fight until the last stage of last WRC 2025 event. Let the best win - as always...
