This post is my contribution to #needleworkmonday challenge. I like needle work and I love beading. So today I want to show you another example of a beaded fringe earrings.

I used gold color Toho beads, because they are uniform, and in the fringe design, this is a must! The beads are shiny and the light confuses my camera lol... the bottom beads are black shiny bicones and they don't help the camera either!
So here we go! We start with 9 rows of ladder stitch, this is the base. We build up the upper part of the earring with brick stitch. If you prefer larger earrings, use more rows, but make sure the number is odd. 9, 11, 13, 15 etc. When you have 3 beads on top you make the bail by adding 6 smaller beads. In my case I used 15/0 black seed beads, because I use them in the bottom of the fringes. Once you finish the bail you add a metal earring hook.

Next. We start making the fringes.

My design is tiny, so I will make short fringes. I start with 5 gold beads, 1 bicone, 1 seed bead. Next rows are 7, 9, 11, and 13 in the middle, followed by 11, 9 , 7 and 5. Tip - pay attention at the thread tension, you don't want it tight, nor loose.
That's it! 30 minutes or so, and you got yourself a nice pair of handmade earrings. Now I'm working on a matching necklace, post coming next week.
