What's a Beat-Block?
Well, I create music (Music Producer I am) - Lately, I've been facing some issues that caused my world to turn upside down, and it triggers my depression... So, basically, a Beat-Block happens when I'm creating a beat and I hit a wall, or two ...infinite walls to be more specific...
I can't come up with anything, well, I can BUT, nothing new, nothing sounds nice, it's like I'm doing the same beat over and over again, like a pattern I'm stuck in... Sounds like the same daily routine of life, and I don't want my music to sound like that! Neva!
I was super sick last week, with low blood pressure and then some, I think I created around ~10 music projects, I was on fire! ...Then the 'fire' went out...
If a light or something that is burning Goes out, it stops producing light or heat
And here I am, sitting in the cold, my thoughts are freezing - maybe I should fire up one of those ~10 projects? I did but nope, no heat yet... Something is missing! And hey, I'm fully aware that nothing is missing... This is just one of the many things that depression does to my brain, and the way I see things... 'Blocked!'
How To Beat This?
I think I'm on the right track of doing so right now, writing about it (it does help!) taking a break... No need to create/start a fire I can't put out, at least, when I leave it for a couple of days and come back, I'll be missing it! Gotta feel that 'hunger' so I can enjoy it more when I take that sweet bite!
This is not my first time experiencing this, and everytime I do... I take a step back, think of something new to add to my workflow, pattern, life, or whatever... Even if it's ridiculous, it shall and it will bring back the eagerness to create again, and the willingness to live...?
