Aquariums offer unique opportunities to observe marine life up close. It helps to learn about different species and ecosystems, and appreciate the beauty of the underwater world. These days many countries offering a state of the art underwater theme park in prime location, expecting tourist to enjoy and made themselves familiar with Waterworld. Such places always provide a calming and engaging experience, making them popular destinations for families, individuals, and even for those seeking a tranquil escape. My city too has an age old aquarium house that was recently renovated and opened for public. It was fascinating to explore such places for a little Sunday fun.
I remember in my childhood, I never had the oppurtunity to see the water world from so close. Bought up in small town I was familiar with local fishes like rohu and Karla that were sold in the open market but never had the oppurtunity to explore other variety of fish. During those days, we were not blessed with internet too to get some insight about the living world that exist beneath the water. But now finding an oppurtunity to explore mini world of fish I went to Jal Jeev Vihar, which translates to "Aquatic Life Residence" or "Water Life Abode" in English.
It is so fascinating to see that the city that I am currently living in has an old aquarium places. Just imagine how beautifully the city was planned way back in 60's and early 70's that every aspect of life was taken care of. They have school, they have theatres, aquarium, zoo, markets, and other facility. It is always fun to live in such places that exposes life to different acenues and one could easily get a taste of everything easily. It was planned township. Looking at the exterior of the building that houses the aquarium, I did not expected it to be renovated. But it has a well grafted greenary around its places.
It has well maintained lawn in front of the building expecting people to sit and enjoy the Sun during winter and or cool evening breeze. While the building does bot seems to be renovated but the decent park does give a different vibes to the place. The back side still too heavenly with tree and bushes.
The Jal Jeev Vihar aquarium was recently renovated and reopened to the public. The aquarium houses over 40 different species of fish and other aquatic creatures. The refurbished aquariums aim to provide an engaging and informative experience for visitors especially to the kids who always wonder about the aquatic life. There is another entry ticket of Rs.5 that take us inside building. The building is round in shape with the aquariums fixed on the walls displaying the variety of aquatic fishes.

The interior has a completelly different aura than that of the exterior. While the outside does gives a hint of ill maintenance, the interior of the building is well lit up with lights and new marble flooring and white tiles on the walls. Giving a renovated vibes to the place. The exterior will be taken care sooner as it only asks for some paint, else rhe building is in good condition.
With the curiosity to fulfill childhood dream of knowing the aquatic world, I started taking the round of the aquarium. The place is not so big, and has not much crowded. So it was an easy walk finding the different species of fish housed. Each aquarium has sones fish and a name is pasted on top of each of them. The aquarium were placed in two rows, the upper part and the lower. Each one of them have differrnt species.
The first one was GLOW WIDOW radiating in orange they were swarming in numbers.

There were many others with names pasted on each of them.
The good thing was the way they were kept inside the glass aquarium. They have decorated the inside with colourful pebbles and some colourful theme that makes them resembles like underwater life. I unable to take some clear shots of the fishes due to fingerprints on the aquarium glasses. Seems the visitors used to touch them, making the area dirty.
Anyway, it was a good trip to know about the aquatic life. In fact a good way to enjoy Sunday by immersing into the unknown aquatic life. I never knew of the fishes name but thankfully I learned some new name to talk about. It was a worth of a visit.
In good faith - Peace!!
