Slap a Fender Jazz bass Ultra 5 string!
Big Band, May 16 2025.
This song is called "Some Skunk Funk" and it's by Randy Brecker or "The Brecker Brothers."
- We also played "Some Skunk Funk" for the outdoor concert earlier in the semester.
- This song seems crazy at first, but if you listen to the original or the 1980 live versions a million times... and play it all really really slow, it starts to seems normal.
- I did some "weird/silly" bass stuff. Maybe, "flashy" is a better word... "funky flashy" is maybe the better...
- I wanted to play what's written mixed with the Neil Jason slides and mad-libs. Check out the bass player here: https://youtu.be/vKyJou39Kks?feature=shared

I know, there are a lot of bass videos. Most videos are single songs and some are two or three songs per video. It’s hard to tell who wants to let something play-on while they chill, as opposed to a viewer that only wants 30 seconds. Comments on this topic are welcome.
Videos are posted in near chronological order. Chronologically “first-in and first-out” vid posting order down to the order in which song appeared during the performances.
