The devil wears prada

Hey guys since yesterday i am finally on vacation on my favorite spot and i have internet now and for the next hour so that is what i watched yesterday might and i really liked it !

The editor-in-chief of a major women’s magazine (in other words, the Anna Wintour of American Vogue) terrorizes a young woman working as a temporary assistant, pressuring her to conform to the anorexic silhouette and the latest styles dictated by the ruthless world of fashion. Meryl Streep elevates the story into a study of the corrosive dominance of the boss figure.

Meryl Streep is far too smart to get tangled up in a caricature of Anna Wintour, which might have ended up as a copy of the famously difficult, unmovable Vogue editor of the last few decades. She had to humanize her—and that’s exactly what she did. She delivers a phenomenal performance (as always), giving a tour de force that earned her an Oscar nomination. She steals every scene she’s in, and you miss her when she’s not on screen. 🤷‍♂️

Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci are fantastic in their roles, something I can’t quite say for Anne Hathaway. Personally, her portrayal didn’t work for me.

The Devil Wears Prada teaches us the value of fashion—even in the life of an ordinary, everyday person with no connection to haute couture. The film attempts to subtly criticize the demanding fashion industry, which allows no room for even the smallest mistake from those who work within it.

The film’s major weakness, in my view, is that it’s relatively timid and doesn’t take the risks it could have taken.

A very enjoyable watch overall—and the sequel has been officially announced for May 2026.
