Description from Strava:
I was at the pub last night to see my friends @steve.and.anke perform. I had a couple of pints that may have messed up my sleep a bit, but I was up this morning to go for a longer run. I have not been getting out as often as I would really like.
I was timekeeping at parkrun yesterday when it was cloudy and a little cooler, but the sun was out today and it soon warmed up. I did a long version of my usual Sunday loop. Recently my runs have been around 6:15/km, but I tried to keep this under 6 and was well under at times. My legs seem stronger lately, so I am doing something right.
I saw a few ladies out running. I was reading that some ladies are wary of running on their own as they get hassled. That is terrible and the police have been going out trying to catch the culprits in some areas. Around here it tends to be fairly quiet and may not be as bad. I saw one of the parkrun ladies out dog-walking with her friend.
I was aiming for around 10km, but it ended up a bit further and I am happy with the pace. I was very warm when I got back, but I have cooled down and my legs are fine. Looking on Strava I can see that a friend did a similar distance this morning and overlapped my route, but we missed each other. I find Strava inspirational and so is Hive where this also gets posted.
I still have an issue with sore shoulders, but doing some hedge trimming yesterday may not have helped. My weekends can be fairly busy. There is always something to do in the garden. I picked a load of tomatoes yesterday, so the work paid off.
Enjoy your Sunday and run free!
