Description from Strava:
I ran at parkrun yesterday and did fairly well. I did no blog that as I want to start posting reviews of events on Hive. I started with Henlow Bridge Lakes.
The weather has been mixed again. Friday was wet, but the the sun came out for parkrun before it rained again last night. This morning was bright and perfect for a run. I have not run up to Langford in a while, so that was my aim today. That means covering some of the parkrun course. As I went past Henlow Grange a heron flew over. That was a little odd having just watched The Boy and The Heron. That is a strange Studio Ghibli animation. Last night we watched Thursday Murder Club. We have both read the books so it was interesting to compare. It is a fun film, but they have made it more fantasy England for the US viewers.
It was fairly quiet past the lakes with a few people out running or walking their dogs. There was a big flock of geese in one of the fields. At Langford I headed across to the fields above Clifton to avoid the roads. I saw a dead muntjac deer on the verge. I assume it was hit by a car.
It is feeling like summer is going as the sun was quite low and some trees are turning. There were a few puddles around that I was able to avoid. At one point a car came down the lane and I ended up on a muddy bit that was a bit slippery, but nothing happened.
I did a longer run last Sunday, but I had not run parkrun the day before and that makes a difference. My legs were tired today and so I did not go as far. I came back along the road that can be a bit noisy. I thought of going over the road bridge, but I took the quieter option of going under it and using the footbridge at the station.
The pace was not too bad today considering I was not trying too hard. It is better than a few months ago so I must be getting stronger.
Have a good week and run free.
I think I need a new phone pouch as mine is rubbing my arm a bit. I have had it for years so it has lasted well. I do wash it now and again as it gets covered in sweat.
