The News

I am sure plenty of people have been following the progress of $LEO since they stopped minting it. The price really went up, but seems to have peaked for now slightly higher than $HIVE. That is on much lower volume, but it will make a big difference to those who hold some. I am sure I am not the only one to sell a little. My priority is HP and I have also sold some Splinterlands cards to boost that lately. I may be up for doing some deals on those.

I have seen a few people marking nine years on this blockchain. I hit that milestone too a couple of weeks ago. Those of us who got in early had some advantages, but this is still a pretty small community and you can get noticed if you do good things. It really is up to you to connect with people who share your interests. Just pestering everyone will be less effective and may be counterproductive as people here have a low tolerance for spam of any kind. Join relevant communities and comment on posts you actually enjoy or where you can add value.

I did not really pick up on much Hive news this week as I have been busy lately, but feel free to share some yourself. Anyone can post news and follow suggestions. I have done this under #FollowFriday for years and people seem to like it.

Friday Follows

  • @louis88 has been looking at security issues on Hive projects. This is important work as we need to keep our keys safe. I also enjoy his updates on his solar panels. He and his brother @rivalzzz get to a lot of Hive events.
  • I enjoy a lot of music and it is good to see what people like @thetroublenotes and @ravenmus1c are up to. They both seem very busy lately.
  • I have met @edent at various non-Hive events. He is a prolific blogger who posts on all sorts of topics. He has had a Hive account for a while, but is more into platforms like Mastodon where people tend to be anti-crypto. I did manage to tempt him back this week, but I am not sure he will be a regular visitor. You can leave him a comment anyway.
  • I saw @dreeyor crop up in the Comics community. He says he was inspired by prolific artist @sidekickmatt to join Hive and wants to post his own work. Being from Nigeria he will have a different perspective.

The Dog House

I have posted before about getting hassled over the downvotes other people get. I will repeat that I have nothing to do with this and have no influence on the big accounts who do it. I have asked them and others to not do this as it just aggravates the situation, but I cannot force anyone to change their ways. Those getting downvoted need to consider if their actions provoke this reaction. Posting the same things over and over whilst tagging people is not considered good behaviour. I know they have been muted by most of those who were tagged, so it is ineffective anyway.

I will ask anyone seeing this to NOT downvote or attack anyone involved in this dispute. That will just make it worse. Hive has enough drama as it is.

I really do not know why anyone would think I have influence on whales. I have met some of them at Hivefest, but I will talk to most people there. I may also comment on their posts, but this does not make us friends. I just try to treat everyone with respect to keep things amicable as I am trying to avoid conflict. Those who like to cause trouble tend to stay anonymous for good reasons. I was involved with fighting some abuse, but mostly gave that up ages ago as it was too stressful.

Hive is my main online home and so I try to get along with people. If I do not then I avoid them. Pestering me will not get you anywhere. I have seen plenty of accounts get hammered after going on the attack against the Hive community and that can be sad. This online crap is not worth all that stress and real life is more important.

I will not name names, but everything is recorded on the blockchain forever.

The End

After getting that off my chest I will look forward to my weekend doing things that matter to me. I hope everyone has a good one.
