The News
The crypto prices are not too exciting lately. Although $HIVE has dropped a bit lately it is still doing better than a month ago. As always we can play a part in improving that by talking to people about it and locking up funds in HP. You can see that $LEO is doing much better now since they stopped creating coins. I do hold a bit of that.
@roelandp announced the tickets for the upcoming Hivefest in Kuala Lumpur. I am not expecting to go this time, but there is a chance to win a ticket from @worldmappin.
With @gadrian not doing his weekly news posts I feel some responsibility to step up for that, but my time is limited. I will continue to post news I see, but I would like to see others doing news posts.
You can get some updates on the various projects on their accounts such as @peakd, @ecency and @leofinance. @hive-echo and @hivetoday post general updates. @arcange and @dalz do comprehensive posts on Hive statistics.
Who do you follow for Hive news? I think it can be good to have dedicated accounts for that.
Friday Follows
- @knot is looking to build a community of sailors.
- @elyavegan is the brother of @harbiter and a fellow musician as well as a vegan who just joined Hive. The twi of them did a cool tribute to Ozzy.
- Another Ozzy tribute came from bassist @musicandreview.
- Another new Hiver is @loraphoenix.
- @ashtv is back after a while. He recently made a music video for the band Opeth.
The Dog House
In the Dog House is general negativity. For some time I have been hassled on Hive by someone in the UK who feels he is being unfairly downvoted by a large account. I have nothing to do with that, but he seems to think that I do and so I get tagged in dozens of long comments each week with some nasty replies to me. I have met lots of people on Hive, but that does not mean I have any influence on them. Hivers are very independent people and want to be free to do as they want. Some of them will keep their identities hidden to reduce the risk of retaliation, but I have always been public about who I am and where I live, so I have been careful not to get into any big fights. I have done some abuse fighting where I thought it was necessary, but rarely do now. I know what it is like to have all my rewards removed. I am more interested in helping others and building communities on Hive. That is why I have been to so many events.
Even if whales were giving me big rewards (and they are not) it would not be worth getting involved in feuds considering the amount of grief I have had. This has stressed me out and made me lose sleep. This is unacceptable in any situation.
Of course all this is permanently recorded on the blockchain, but please do not go picking fights and making it worse. I have resisted posting about this for a long time, but the person in question refuses to believe that I cannot help him. Bearing grudges is unhealthy. Some have suggested that I just mute him, but I doubt that would stop him and may make it worse. I am deliberately not tagging those involved, but they may see it anyway.
Someone said to me this week that on Hive 'Nothing is forbidden, but everything has consequences'. If you act badly to others then you may get judged on it and there are those who will take action. I will not ask anyone to do that on my behalf, but civilised discussion should be encouraged to calm things down. Of course I have tried that, but it does not seem to help in this case. I just want it all to stop.
It makes me sad to have to write all this, but I feel it needs to be said. I do not want to have to leave Hive as I have made so many friends here. Tomorrow will mark nine years for me on the blockchain and that is something special.
The End
I am giving away the rewards for this post as it feels wrong to earn from it.
Peace and Love.
