The News
Happy Friday! I know the $HIVE price is not much to cheer about lately. It may drop back below 20c for the first time in a while. The eternal problem is giving people reasons to invest. Some will say we are not ready for the mainstream, but after nine years we ought to be. There are still millions who can handle dealing with keys etc. There are lots of crypto fans and other geeks out there. They should be the first wave and then we need more of the creative people who can attract an audience of content consumers. Of course everyone can earn here, but people also want an alternative to the big platforms that seem to get more hostile. Hive is imperfect, but we have more freedom here. $LEO has peaked for now, but they seem to have more plans.
The Hive Summit is happening right now in Aachen, Germany. I hope to see lots of reports from there. I would like to go next year.
The Hive Snaps mobile app has a proposal to fund more development. You can support that to help them out. I am using the app and it already works well. Their mascot @snapie posts updates.
@louis88 has created a script that shows in peakd if people are posting on the other chains. I wonder why they would, but we can each make up our own minds about that.
Friday Follows
- We ought to be encouraging other blockchains to use Hive as post do not have their own blogging platforms. We alreaimage.pngdy have @dashpay and @thedessertlinux is part of that community.
- I met poet @raj808 in Liverpool a while back. He is marking eight years on here.
- @ebass interviewed the Hive borehole man @mcsamm this week
- @makerhacks posts about various coding techniques and also about retro computing.
- Runners and other active people should check out @strava2hive from @run.vince.run for an easy way to make posts from activities. Of course you still need to be interesting.
The End
I will skip the Dog House this week to avoid dwelling on negative issues. I find much to lift my spirits on Hive even with its faults. There will be a few people who make themselves unpopular with their actions, but in this small community that will stand out. We do need to deal with real abuse, but I see little to be gained from infighting and feuds. Those will put others off. Hive is supposed to be about freedom and people should be free to do dumb things.
Hive five!
