I became a lion
Hello everyone!
A couple of days ago I wrote about the new interface of leodex. If you have missed it, feel free to checkbit out. In my opinion it's relevant for nearly everyone as the new Leodex interface lets you swap native L1 tokens for free. All of this without kyc and decentralised. So check it out!
Although that's not the topic of today. Today I want to kind of tell my own story, it's centered around the Inleo / Leodex community though. It's how I became a lion.
A while ago
In January 2024, I saw a job posting of @freecompliments who was looking for a curator for threads mentioning #freecompliments. As I had quite some idle time at that moment, I decided to postulate. I ended up to be the person behind @fc-curation. Before that moment in time I already had heard of Leofinance but never had actively used it. So you could say that moment was the start of my discovery of the Lions community on Hive.
I started to thread as well but figured out that I wasn't convinced in the LEO tokenomics, so I sold them off after a while. At that time I already praised the team behind Leofinance but without good tokenomics, LEO was just an inflationary L2 token of which the price plummeted slowly. Although the team tried to invent themselves over and over. Anyway, I sold off my LEO.

Fastforward to a couple of weeks ago. I suppose it was around the moment that LEO 2.0 was announced that I decided to buy more LEO. I heard Khal talking about LEO 2.0 and was totally convinced. The token would become deflationary and there would be a 'dividend': USDC rewards when staked on Arbitrum. Those two elements were probably the most important ones to hook me up.
All my liquid Hive went towards LEO. Luckily I managed to buy a decent stake step by step. I always talked about 50K LEO before the airdrop would end and 100K before the end of the year.
Situation now
At the moment I own a little over 48K LEO. I guess I will still be able to achieve the 50K target but the 100K target will be a miss. I don't have enough income to keep up with the increased price of LEO and I don't expect Leo to plummet soon. I will keep adding to my stack of LEO but guess I will end up somewhere between 50K and 60K at the end of the year.
Anyways, 50K LEO is a decent stack for me. I expect LEO could be worth 1 Hive before the airdrop ends. Even 1$ before the end of the year isn't that unthinkable. Remember that the Total amount of LEO is 30M which will only go down as more tokens are burned. Thus if 1 LEO would be $1, that would put Leo at a marketcap of 30M. Definitely not unthinkable knowing that Leodex keeps expanding and its volumes as well.
It's maybe a bit of wishful thinking but that would put my 50K LEO at a value of $50K, not too bad right? Although we'll see how everything turns out as the price can't keep climbing hyperbolic. But still, I am convinced that it's just the start!
