Welcome to the new StemQ Digest!

The StemQ team is delighted to present you a brand new Digest which we hope to be able to deliver to you on a (roughly) weekly basis!

In the Digest editions you will find information about the latest StemQ news, best weekly contributions, tips and much much more!

Enjoy your reading!

What is StemQ?

StemQ is a questions and answers (Q&A) application focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects.

Using StemQ users can post specific questions about STEM related topics and let other StemQ users answer those questions. All while earning Steem cryptocurrency!

StemQ is now live!

Last week saw the launch of the StemQ website, officially available at: https://www.stemq.io

It was a nervous day for @irelandscape who took the plunge and flicked the power switch on to power this brand new application!

With the help of @driplo, @nothingismagick, @ziapase and others, the long planned beta release finally came to life and it was exciting to see curious steemians converging towards the site.

Q&A highlights

Here is a sample of the first contributions posted on StemQ.

**What is the physical meaning of Maxwell's equations?** by @irelandscape ![](https://i.postimg.cc/jdBttJHZ/electricity-705670-640.jpg) @irelandscape attempts to explain the meaning of Maxwell's famous four equations which defined the fundamental laws of electromagnetism and paved the way for the emergence of radio transmission technologies.
**What is an enzyme?** by @justtryme90 ![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmS9FwjQhvb4ys3zHokP2SdSR4digPffSZoosoKogUEyYc/image.png) What is an enzyme? And how does it differ from a proteine? How does the shape of enzymes allow binding to substrate and the resulting products? @justtryme90 provides some elements of answers to those important questions.

Q&A, a new format for your STEM articles

We are all used to submit an article about a specific subject through one post.

StemQ brings in a new way of writing about a subject by encouraging people to discuss about a particular topic by submitting two posts.

The first post is the question. It should have a clear a title (the question) and a body providing more information and context.

The second post is the answer and follows the conventional format of most STEM related posts.

Other steemians are then encouraged to provide additional answers to the same question, adding further valuable element of information to the existing answer.

First release upgraded to 0.1.1

A few days on and the original 0.1.0 release has already been upgraded to 0.1.1.

This new feature brings in the following features and bug fixes: * Questions and answer post drafts are now saved and restored when coming back to the editing page, even after browser restart. * Added clickable unobtrusive navigation buttons to the card swipers on the home page, when viewed on a desktop computer. * Added confirmation dialog when a question/answer post is attempted to be submitted without any image. * Added support for direct image links, as supported on Steemit, Steempeak, Busy and other Steem apps. * pull-left and pull-right div classes are now supported. * Fix for automatic logout on steemconnect token expiration.

SP Delegation

One of the key factors that will determine the success of StemQ in the future is our capability to significantly reward quality contributions.

Furthermore we would like to add many cool features which will greatly enhance everyone's experience while using the app.

All of the above can be achieved but would require significant Steem power.

For this reason the StemQ team is seeking generous steemians to delegate SPs to the project.

Many thanks to @katerinaramm for being the first StemQ delegator!

If you would like to delegate some SPs to the project, you can follow instructions on how to do so on this post or use one of the following delegation links: 10 SP | 20SP | 50SP | 100SP |500SP|1000SP
