Gioie e preoccupazioni su eBay

--- Come dicevo settimana scorsa, Settembre è partito col botto. Tanto che, a metà mese, ho già superato il record di Agosto. Sembra una follia, ma la settimana ha portato anche qualche preoccupazione. Vediamo assieme. Innanzitutto diamoci dei numeri. Al 15 settembre, quindi esattamente a metà del mese, ho venduto 36 articoli. Ad agosto, in 31 giorni, ero riuscito a raggiungere le 31 vendite, tanto da segnarmi il traguardo di una vendita al giorno di media. Non riesco a capire cosa sia successo in queste due settimane, non sono ancora a trovare una motivazione. Tutto questo mi preoccupa perché ho sempre cercato di puntare ad una crescita organica, cioè costante nel tempo. Niente picchi o baratri, ma una progressione più o meno graduale. Certo, non mi lamento dei risultati, ma vorrei comprenderli e farlo sta diventando difficoltoso a causa di un problema. La app di ebay che uso molto sul cellulare, ha iniziato a non mostrarmi più le quantità vendute. So cosa ho venduto perché ne tengo traccia a mano su Excel, ma non poter visualizzarlo anche sulla app mi toglie uno strumento di verifica e pone il dubbio che ci sia qualche problema di sistema. Altra cosa che ho notato da app è che la media di visualizzazioni delle mie inserzioni è calata del 25-30%. Da una media di 9.000 delle prime due settimane ai circa 7.000 degli ultimi giorni. Meno visualizzazioni non si traduce automaticamente in minori vendite. Questo è un errore che molti fanno leggendo le statistiche di ebay. Potrei avere diverse migliaia di visualizzazioni e non vendere mai, anche se, sicuramente, ci sono delle probabilità maggiori. Io uso le visualizzazioni per capire l'impatto delle modifiche alla mia strategia, per capire se portano degli effetti positivi. La preoccupazione deriva dal fatto che non ho portato modifiche alla mia strategia, per cui non capisco questa riduzione di visite. Potrebbero essere dei dati fallati dovuti ad un problema di sistema, come per il quantitativo di venduto, ma se così non fosse, non saprei giustificarmelo. Posso sopportare un periodo di scarse vendite. Mi è già successo a febbraio e marzo con solo 3 vendite in due mesi, ma ho bisogno di capire e mi secca non avere uno strumento che reputavo utile ed interessante per farmi una idea dell'impatto del mio lavoro. E' un po' come guidare senza sapere a che velocità e se stai accelerando o rallentando, sai solo che vai avanti. --- *Credo nel valore del riuso e nella bellezza delle seconde occasioni. All this worries me because I have always tried to aim for organic growth, i.e. constant over time. No peaks or troughs, but a more or less gradual progression. Of course, I'm not complaining about the results, but I would like to understand them, and this is becoming difficult due to a problem. The eBay app, which I use a lot on my mobile phone, has stopped showing me the quantities sold. I know what I've sold because I keep track of it manually in Excel, but not being able to view it on the app takes away a verification tool and raises the question of whether there is a system problem. Another thing I noticed on the app is that the average number of views of my listings has dropped by 25-30%. From an average of 9,000 in the first two weeks to around 7,000 in the last few days. Fewer views do not automatically translate into fewer sales. This is a mistake that many people make when reading eBay statistics. I could have several thousand views and never sell anything, although, of course, there is a greater chance of this happening. I use views to understand the impact of changes to my strategy, to see if they have a positive effect. My concern stems from the fact that I have not made any changes to my strategy, so I do not understand this reduction in visits. It could be faulty data due to a system problem, as with the quantity sold, but if that is not the case, I cannot explain it. I can cope with a period of poor sales. It already happened to me in February and March with only three sales in two months, but I need to understand and it annoys me not to have a tool that I found useful and interesting to give me an idea of the impact of my work. It's a bit like driving without knowing how fast you're going or whether you're accelerating or slowing down; you just know you're moving forward. --- *I believe in the value of reuse and the beauty of second chances.
