Well, talk about a funny couple of weeks!
I pretty much put it out there in my last posts, that m'lady had taken bold steps for the 2 of us in a health and wellbeing funk and in conjunction with my birthday, decided that we were gettin' outta the country.
I know that forefront in her thinking is that the 2 of us have had a crap time of it lately.
In many ways she was right!
Gettin' out of this hellhole (ungrateful, I know) was very, very much what the doctor ordered. Sun, sea, sand and Piña colada made me breathe out in a carefree, summer flavoured way that felt alien to my recent life.
We met 2 YouTubers from Sunny beach Bulgaria that we had been watching for the past few weeks, they are travel vloggers from the resort albeit not your average vloggers...
Andrew and Susan are older than your average travel vloggers, (think early 60's) they have retired from England to Bulgaria and I envy and respect them so much for that.
Add the fact that they started a YouTube channel in their golden years and my respect is ramped up by the power of 10.
After chatting with Andrew a lot about his channel/retirement/emigrating rejuvenated me, and I DO want to talk more about their inspiring story, but that was NOT the whole story of the week...
Remember when these were a thing???
Yup! The Rona reared it's damn ugly head and first of all my lovely lady was utterly Covidized, next up I was Ronafied, sadly, it wasn't a short or mild visit...
After a couple of strange, spaced out, utterly delirious days at the end of our holiday, we were to endure a Disney Fantasia style flight back to the UK.
Masks, dehydration flavoured hallucinations and all round skeletal nastiness ensued and a 4ish hour flight was reduced to a short series of trippy waking/sleeping moments and odd experiences.
This was to be the pattern for the the next week after arriving home.
The highlights of which were m'lady trying to drink a TV remote control and me putting on a t-shirt and shorts at 3.30 am to walk down to the beach that we had left in a whole other country...
Our eldest daughter who lives at home still, did NOT live at home still, she fled our germs, ran to her boyfriends and stayed their for the week as she works in a care setting and takes her job very seriously.
She offered to go shopping and bring us whatever we wanted but would leave it on the doorstep and RUUUN...
I do NOT blame her as m'lady and I had a particularly nasty bout. From getting on the flight home we were aware of what felt like a million coughing, spluttering, moaning, aching people. Even with a mask, the recycled air of an aeroplane was gonna get many a person...
This experience has gotten right in the way of my writing plans. September started so, so well, with a post on September 1st then a whirlwind 16 posts in 16 days then a week in Bulgaria with poor connection and an inability to write, followed by ~~the plague~~ an awful bout of illness.
Here is the 1st of October though, the first day of Q4 of the year and I wanted to make an effort to get back to it, starting the month the way I want to go on (albeit, feeling a lot better)
I want to talk about Bulgaria much more, covid, a little tiny bit more and plans for the remainder of the year and beyond a lot more.
Happy October Hivians, may the final quarter of the year and beyond, treat you incredibly well. We will see much more of each other.
Thank YOU for taking the time to read my post and if you're one of those amazing people who like to hit the comments section... Then I doubly thank YOU!
Either way I want you to know that you are appreciated!
Keep taking the time to connect with each-other both here and in the 'so-called' real world and try and look after each-other, because as you already know...
